Wet'n Wild vs Typhoon Lagoon

I am guessing the Wet'n Wild is much less tranquil and relaxing than Typhoon Lagoon, am I correct?

yes very much so. Wet n wild is sorta like all pavement, no trees and beachsand. My kids did love wetnwild but i don't thin it compares to typhoon lagoon

Oh, yeah. Wet and wild is exactly that! It was a zoo! Mass hysteria everywhere and I couldn't wait to go back to WDW property. If you go to TL and stay on property, anyone who wants to stay or go has the option. At Wet and Wild, I had to stay there until my entire party wanted to leave.

If you are looking at the quality of the rides then do Wet n' Wild. The slides are far supperior over Typhoon Lagoon. The only thing that TL has is some more landscaping and the excellent wave pool. The crowds at WnW also depends on when you go there. I was there the Middle of March and it was dead. We did everything at least 3 times and then went 2 weeks ago and was barely able to do the stuff once. All the water parks here in Orlando is the same way except for TL due to it being a smaller water park and not have too good of a variety of slides.

Exactly. The problem all the previous posters made was arriving to the park at noon.

Arrive to WnW at 9am and see what happens. You'll get on all the slides with no waits. Yes, it's early, but the reward is short lines for all the slides. Wake up at 7am and get on the move.

WnW is a great park. Get there early, do the major slides, then crash out next to the wave pool and have a few drinks. There's a beer stand to the right of the wave pool.

It's all in the timing of you getting to the parks.

Wake up early, get there before the gate opens.

If it's rides you want and especially if you have teenagers then W'nW is for you.But I found it like a concrete jungle too and didn't like it there.Even the lazy river is just a concrete oval with no theming at all.In five trips to Orlando and with 3 teens we only visited W'n'W once and never returned.

I can't understand why Universal don't spend some money on the place and improve it?Or am I missing the point and people like it's non-themed,non magical like experience?

Universal just basically bought the place recently. I guess they could have closed it for winter and tried to re-theme everything, but WnW was already a very popular park, so maybe they didn't feel the need to do so.

robvia, I am posting what I said based on arriving at park opening. I was there today and first thing the park was almost empty. The crowds really started to arrive at 11 and then the lines really went down hill. I know that Universal is starting to spend some money at WnW. They just got completed painting almost the entire park. They redid one of the rides to turn it into a blast type ride that is powered by powerful jets of water. All that I have to say it give them time and the park will begin to improve.

As a side thought, how does Water Mania compare to the other water parks?

Water Mania is much like Wet N Wild, as far as the "concrete jungle" goes. It also has the surfboard thingy which is very popular.

Sorry,I thought Universal had owned W'n'W for some time as multi-tickets in the UK have included W'nW with Sea World and the Universal parks for a few years

If it was given a face-lift I would be tempted to try it again this October

I wanted to try Water Mania as we stayed on the 192 last October becuase of the surf wave thing,but it never seemed to be open

The multiday passes were made due to an agreement with the 3 different chains and the Orlando Visitor Center. WnW really didn't go through a face lift. They just did a repainting and updated an existing ride.

I liked wet n wild I can't swim but my wife and kids do, so off they went while I relaxed by wave pool reading a book its not that well themed but still relaxing
