Wet, Sweat, Fun & Sun But You Have HOW Many Snack Credits Left?

We've seen this show I think twice. The first time we went and I believe the 2nd. Again as much as I enjoyed it this is not like Aladdin for me and once I've seen it a few times I don't need to see it again. But I do agree it IS a great show. They had a version of it at DL for awhile too. I think Aladdin is the only one I see over and over because I love the theater and effects (esp when they flew the carpet) and everyone loves the Genie. He really makes the show. But glad you enjoyed it!!

That show looks fantastic! I was on the fence, having seen big theater productions of the musical before. But that looks simply amazing.

It was really well done (and I'm pretty picky with shows & especially the singing part)!!

Awesome show pics!!!

Thank You.....not bad from the last row!!

Aladdin is a classic.....I think the Genie is why the success of that show has kept it so popular over the years.....but it's done in January next year. Super disappointed I won't get to see it one more time. So sick of Frozen!!!! (which is what they are replacing the Aladdin show with....for those of you that weren't aware of this news)

Such a bummer that Shy was not feeling well, but the table service you got is EXACTLY why we keep going to Disney. I've never been ANYWHERE that bends over backwards even close to the degree that they do. I hope she was feeling better very quickly for your trip.

The meal looks quite nice, but I think I'd only go there for the theming. I cook like that myself and we eat a lot of Mama's home stuff everyday, so I want to make sure I hit up places where I don't cook like they do like sushi and prime rib and Indian, but I do LOVE the theming there a ton and in fact, it may even be on my list for our trip... I like the idea of the waitstaff being in character for the meals, haha, again, only a Disney thing. Love it!

The B&B show was fun for me too. I ADORE the voice talent they always hire. I could listen to Broadway style music all day long and LOVE the dancing. Obviously the costuming is over-the-top as well! SUCH a well-done show, as all of them at Disney are.

I agree. While I enjoyed Frozen and I LOVE Olaf it certainly wasn't all that they are making it up to be. And I think they have ruined it by doing so much and now a show too??? Ugh. I knew Aladdin couldn't last forever but why Frozen! I think people are getting sick of how much it has taken over. I would love a Tangled show. I really love that one and Enchanted. I get it is probably expensive to change it all the time but If they did a different story every few years that would be nice too. I don't look forward to Frozen for years and years. Hopefully it won't last!

My family and I LOVE the Prime Time. My dad and I got those stickers in 2009 but my mom ended up getting fed :rotfl2:for not eating her veggies. On the same trip, my grandma got punished for being late to the table (she was in the restroom). Her punishment was to pay the bill  Same trip, our friends mom got caught using her "googler" (her cell phone) while doing a "homework assignment" so her phone got taken away for the rest of the meal. Poor Shy :scared1: Hope things were ok

From what I've read, the "theming" and wait staff "being in character" can be hit & miss. Our first time was pretty flat but this time was pretty good. Kinda wish her stories would have been a little shorter......too many kids with ADD and they lost interest pretty quickly. The staff & management really bent over backwards to make sure Shy & us were taken care of.

Love Broadway music!!!

Yup, they are taking a good thing & shoving down our throats......now I just gag when I hear that Disney is going to add yet ANOTHER Frozen thing!

LOL.......our waitress made it clear that our phones were only to be out for picture taking and nothing else! I don't remember what she called them....I know it wasn't phones. The table next to us kept pulling them out & the waitress announced that our cousin wasn't following the rules and needed to be punished. We all shook our fingers at him and said "naughty naughty" (or something like that......lol)

Absolutely LOVE the Beauty and the Beast show! I've seen the full productions several times and I think the talent in the disney show is nearly, if not as good as any production I've seen.

I'm so glad I got to see the Aladdin show at DL when we were there in 2013. Loved it and especially the Genie.

We are actually eating at Hollywood Brown Derby this October. I loved it last time but that was about 20 years ago, lol!

The singing in the B&B show was very well done!!

Aladdin has been such a big part of California Adventure & the Hyperion Theater, it's going to be weird for it to be gone (as it was able to adapt the changing news stories thanks to the Genie).....I just don't see how Frozen will still 'relevant" which would make it able to stick around like Aladdin did. Soon others will join in rebelling against the overdoing of Frozen.........

I'm really enjoying reading through your TR! Mostly I'm a quiet reader, I've liked a ton of your posts, but I have speak up to say that your post in #237 has me totally tearing up over how sweet Goofy was with Michayla. Just so heartwarming to see a CM so in the moment with a child...him pushing her over to meet Minnie? I melted :lovestruc

Your husband wins all the awards for capturing all those moments on camera!

Soooo very glad I found your TR :). We are planning on going next June and when I saw your dates I wanted to see how it went for you guys :). We also have a little one that we will be getting a DAS for. He is four and has severe low tone and tires VERY easy and so we will also be using a stroller/wheelchair even though he also can walk on a normal basis, but not for long periods of times. There will only be five of us :) My hubby, myself and three kiddos (two girls and a boy) Love all the pictures (tell hubby he is doing a FABULOUS job with that :)) and your family is absolutely adorable!!!!!

Well thank you for speaking up & not just quietly follow along & welcome!!! I love hearing from readers!! Goofy & Michayla was a very special meeting and I said it before, but I'm so thankful that Mike was paying attention and taking pictures. I feel bad for all the other families that had pictures that morning. If they had any memorable moments....they might not have had any pictures of it.

Welcome!! The DAS will make your touring much easier and make sure they note your "stroller as wheelchair" so he can stay in the chair right up to the ride or into shows. (if the chair is transfer ready, he can even ride in his chair on some of the rides). Be prepared for the heat & the rain......summer time is brutal in both departments!! Where are you going to stay??

After the Beauty & the Beast show, we made a quick restroom stop at the Rock-n-Roller Coaster area. Mike took a few more random shots.

We headed towards the Great Movie Ride at the Mann's Chinese Theater to get a DAS return time. There system was down, so he wrote a return time on a piece of paper. We had a little time before our next Fastpass+ selection & we saw the Donald Duck was doing pictures/autographs & so we got in line. We were probably about 5 families/couples away and Donald had to leave but they promised another character would be back in 5 minutes, so we waited.

It ended up being Pluto. These are the Photopass pictures.

Mike captured this one......

A few more of the Photopass pictures.

A couple random pics of the Hyperion Theater where we stood in the Fastpass+ line for the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.

We knew the girls would love this but figured Tony would be pained in having to go.....we were right.....lol. They have a couple "historians" that tell the story of Anna & Elsa and then the audience can sing along to the well know songs from the movie. Anna, Elsa & Kristoff also are there. The story was done with humor, which kept the adults entertained. I wasn't sure what to expect of this but was pleasantly surprised at how fun it was. (I'm still not happy with all the Frozen take-overs of all the Disney parks....but a small show like this was fine)......no way I would have attempted the whole Frozen special package.....I would have had to ice-pick my eardrums if I had to hear "Let it Go" more than once!!! These are pictures from the show.

Finishing off the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration......and yes, they did make it snow in the theater!

As always I didn't get an alert on this but that is interesting (the anna and elsa deal). I think the first year we went it was the who wants to be a millionaire game like they had at DCA years ago and then it was American Idol and I guess now it is this. Again these things don't really interest me but if it is there when we go we may check it out. The girls do like Frozen and while I too am sick of it I would be up for doing/seeing something I haven't done yet once.

On a sad note I don't remember if you heard me saying but after our trip this past summer I didn't think we were doing anything until Feb. And honestly we probably shouldn't even be doing that since we are saving up for our DW trip next June but since my parents own the house it is just the airfare and food. We don't have to pay for lodging and we don't plan on doing many excursions since we did a lot last summer. They get their place twice a year and it is probably the last time the girls and I can go with them so we are doing that but other than that I told mom NO plans as we needed to just concentrate on getting her knee surgery. Well then she reeled me in with the premise that her friend wanted to do a few days at DL because she loves Halloween. She kept not getting with the friend and it came to the point we needed to snag cheap airfare. We did that and got a hotel booked but then we never did connect with the friend so we were just going to go. It was pretty much all set and it was just about a month away (Tuesday it would have been a month). Well also if you have been reading my posts you know my sewer line broke, my washing machine and just now on Friday my mom's laptop died. There have been some other things as well and to make matters worse she works on commission and a few of her deals blew up. So it is def a giant red flag that we needed to cancel our trip. In the meantime she is looking at going to work at another company and they have a big convention coming up ALSO in Oct and of all places it is in Orlando. So for a few days we discussed going to that as the company would supposedly pay our airfare and hotel and we would just have to pay for the room past the convention and of course disney tickets etc. Well then today she tells me that another big deal she had blew up and I was like we just need to forget about it. EVEN if they paid for the convention it is not worth whatever we may have had to pay to stay over. I KNOW it is what's best and I am just PRAYING that things start looking up but now she is thinking about cancelling her knee surgery again which she desperately needs!! So needless to say we are all super bummed. Taking a trip is certainly the LAST thing we need to worry about when right now we are worried about just making the bills and I KNOW you of all people can relate. But I know you can also relate that when you have a trip planned and it is so close and then you have to cancel with NO idea when you can go again REALLY sucks. As it is we took a risk and got cheap tickets with Jet Blue who we never flew with and it is a great deal IF you can go but unlike Southwest we are going to lose over half the price of EACH ticket to cancel. We will be stuck with only like a 70 dollar credit per person and have to use it by prob August or early sept and since we are going in Feb to Mexico and June to DW I doubt we can do any other trips and so she will probably lose the entire amount she spent.

Anyway I knew you would understand and while I am pretty sure Mexico will happen it is not that big of a deal to me. That is something they do at least once a year since they own the place and we were just there last summer. I'm not ungrateful to get away but you know us Disney Addicts. I am not even counting on DW. We have to start making ADRS in December but with everything up in the air with her company and her surgery who knows if it will even happen. At this point all we have is our timeshare booked. No airfare bought or anything so as always I am not even counting on that till it happens. And I have NO idea now when we will ever get back to DL. Not going on anymore diva trips and have no plans to go in 16 and prob not 17 either cuz we "hopefully" are going to try and do the east coast trip that got cancelled.

Anyway just wanted to share with you who I know can relate. Thanks for listening and as always need to live vicariously through you and Michelle's reports!

I'm late getting here, but have read through your entire thread. Really enjoying it.

You have a lovely family!

I just finished reading your trip report to this point. I have to say the joy of your family just shines through! You have such beautiful children and I am just so impressed with how organized you are and the how well you handle anything that is thrown at you. The pictures of your kids and the characters have to be my favorite, I can't wait to read/see more!

The Sing-Along was tolerable and enjoyable for all ages. I just couldn't see me doing the whole shebang they are offering: Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package which included a Frozen Welcome (parade/cavalcade with snacks), the Sing-Along Celebration (reserved seats), and then the Frozen Fireworks. I believe you got a dessert seating for that.....at the low, low price of $69/adult & $39/3-9 yr olds.

Bummer about having to cancel DL and you had mentioned the possibility of a couple days at WDW.....booooo, sorry you're not getting to do either. Your mom does need to get that knee dealt with.

Hope things turn around for you & your mom (and her business).....enough's enough already!!

I'm late getting here, but have read through your entire thread. Really enjoying it.

Welcome!! Thank you for joining in!!

Thank you & welcome!! I'm kinda an uber planner.....organization is one of the things I'm good at (kinda have to be with all the kids I have). We've also learned that we have to be able to go with the flow & change plans on the fly.

I'm glad you're going to be following along!!
