This may sound a little dumb, but I know everyone is always talking about getting their socks and shoes all wet from the rainstorms or rides. Was thinking about getting everyone crocs, but then heard that even though it will dry fast, it has given alot of people blisters if walking all day in the parks with them . Does anyone have any suggestions on what we should bring?

Thanks!

In the years that we've been coming to WDW, we've been caught in several cloudbursts and have gotten very wet on a few rides, but we've also not had a problem with wet shoes and socks. Once the rain stops (or the ride) with the heat in Florida the shoes and socks dry pretty quickly. It also helps (in my case at least) that I take hiking shoes and wear those ankle socks. One option is to take dry socks in a ziplock bag into the parks. I'm sure others here will have other suggestions.

Hope this helps

my whole family wears only crocs (with socks) when we're at disney. I usually carry a pair of dry socks in my backpack just in case. We've never had a problem with blisters.

Exactly what we do.

we usually bring an extra pair of sneakers each and we also bring sandals..if we are at the park we usually take the socks off and put a new pair of socks on and then change to the dry pair of sneakers when we get back to the hotel...

that being said we only got that wet once...

Check out the KEEN brand of shoes they have great foot support but breath like a croc or sandal. I haven't found much they aren't good for, except maybe cold weather.

I don't know how you feel about sandals, but I swear by Teva sandals, many of their models are waterproof and they dry almost immediately when wet; they're the only footwear I've found that keeps the blisters away.

I usually wear Crocs in the parks without socks and have never had a blister. Trick is to buy the real thing and not the cheap imitations.

thanks for everyone's great advise! I will look into the keen and teva sandals, and am considering taking the real crocs there! I think I will be bringing socks in a plastic bag also!:goodvibes

Those are neat looking. 2 questions.
1. Are the non skid or a bit slippery ?
2. Do they wear out as fast as Crocs ?

I have worn Crocs in the parks during a rain storm and it was like walking on ice. They were very slick on the painted concrete. Otherwise they are very comfortable.

Crocs makes a slip resistant version in there work collection.

They are non skid and not slippery at all and they are very difficult to wear out. They cost more than Crocs. I particularly like that they are designed to protect the toes, great when walking in creeks or around crowds. I throw them in the washing machine and they come out fresh and new every time. The footbed molds to your foot. In a few days they feel great. Bad tan lines though your foot looks like a tiger.:rotfl:

When you get back try stuffing newspaper in your wet shoes, they will be dry in the morning.:thumbsup2

OK....I just looked at the Croc website and the Keen Site....What one is everyone wearing???? I had NO IDEA how many different types are out there....

I think I will have to get some for my next trip..

THANKS

HH:)
