We have been to Disney a few times and kids love Blizzard Beach. This time we are staying at Universal, is it worth trying Wet'n Wild? How would you compare it to DIsney water parks? How long to allot? How crowded is it compared to the Disney ones? There will be me, my husband and our 3 kids - a teen, a preteen (but a fearless one) and a toddler. Thanks!

I have been wondering the same thing. Any ideas from anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

I have been wondering the same thing. I hope someone responds with some good facts about Wet'n'Wild.

I love Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, but I am always looking for more things to do in Orlando.

You certainly have a range of ages in your family!

Well Wet n Wild is definitely a park that can entertain all ages. Your teen and preteen will love the variety of slides. Some of the newer ones, such as the Storm are unique. They have a great ride called Bombay, which is a speed slide where they actually drop you from a "ship". The Disco H2O is a wonderful family ride (not for the toddler however).

Also, they have kneeskiing and wakeboarding in the Spring and Summer months. They also have it year round on weekends if I am not mistaken.

Now for the lil one, they have a kiddie section with a mini wave pool, small slides, and those mushrooms that spill water. You could stay in this area and allow your kids to go to nearby rides if you wish.

I have been to Wet n Wild for the past several years and it just keeps getting better. And reasonable! They also allow you to bring food to the park :woohoo: (just not glass).

I like Wet n Wild because of the rides, but Blizzard Beach for the atmosphere. So it really depends on what you are going for.

If you have any questions, please post...I'm going back in 3 weeks!

not to sound grippy or anything, but what does this have to do with Universal?

Typhoon Lagoon (snorkel with sharks & crush 'n gusher-roller coaster type); lots of shade too:tiptoe:

Some of the packages that you can buy through Universal include Wet 'n Wild now. There is also free transportation from Universal to Wet 'n Wild.

Wet and Wild so good if are staying on I-Drive or within area, but the theme of BB and TL beat Wet and Wild, if u have a Universal AP u get 10% discount in Wet and Wild main shop plus discount on entry also after 2pm its reduced price entry, wet and wild also do a refillable cup for $9 then its $1 for refills, I had heard that Universal where not reinvesting in wet and wild but looking at putting a new water park closer, also when SW open their water park I think it will force wet and wild to close

They are investing in it. They just removed 2 slides and one other thing for a new slide that they are putting in. It wil be right on the lake next to the docks where they do the tube riding.

Good to hear:goodvibes

I would have to say BB. A couple of years ago we did all of the water parks in the area. After going to TL and witnessing the mad rush at opening to get lounge chairs and maybe an umbrella we were going to try BB. I told the kids that the single most important thing was to get there early. We left home at 4 am for the 3 hour ride to WDW. Even stopping for breakfast we got there more than an hour before it opened. I felt like Clark Griswald visiting a closed Wallyworld. The huge parking lot was empty and my kids were all over me for getting them up so early. I don't know what their complaint was since they slept the whole way. We got out and sat on a bench. When people started arriving we let them queue up as we sat there. When we finally decided to mosey up to the standing line a CM approached and asked if we were the first to arrive. He asked if I wanted to do the Summit Plummet and I balked but volunteered my son. My son told him that he would do it and with that he asked if we would "open" the park? Heck yes! We were taken to a special seating area, my son got a special necklace, we got a locker with a free beach towel and cup and they took him to the top of the 120 foot free fall and pushed him off to open the park. I thought it was cool but the kids still complain when I wake them up early to go to the parks.
