Typhhon Lagoon - the theming can't be beaten, and although it might not have the same quantity of water slides as either Blizzard Beach or WnW we think overall it is the best water park.

Typhoon Lagoon all the way IMO. Wet 'n' Wild is a horrible concrete blob right beside the main road with no theming.

Typhoon Lagoon has fantastic theming, the best lazy river IMO, a fantastic wave pool and the shark-swim experience. The theming here is just excellent and there are a wide variety of slides - Humanga Kowabunga is great fun.

However, Blizzard Beach is also very nicely themed and has some excellent slides - if you have the time I would definitely consider trips to both BB and TL - they are both excellent.

I'm with the lads on this one. That wave pool is great fun and the whole park is great.

Never been to Wet'n'Wild but it looks horrible and dated.

Went to BB last christmas and to be honest it was very dirty and was not 'all that'.

I was hard pushed to choose between TL and BB - but TL won it, because of the excellent wave pool and the swimming with the 'sharks'!

TL :D

Love the wave pool :Pinkbounc

Like BB too - love some of the gentler slides but the pool's not very big.

Typhoon Lagoon here also.

Great themeing, good for families ,plenty to do(or not!)if you just wanna worship the sun!.

Tough choice but another vote for Typhoon Lagoon here too.

Love the wave pool :)

I'm also with the majority on this one although the other two have a lot to offer.
I've heard that Wet N Wild can become a bit rowdy of a weekend and school hols as the locals get cheap entrance.
The wave pool at TL will have you entertained for hours on end and you dont need to be a daredevil to ride the slides.

Another vote for Typhoon Lagoon. Does anyone remember the beach bash that used to take place at 5pm to either 7 or 9pm? I was recently looking at some video footage wo took in 1996 when our children were youngsters, I howled with laughter watching them doing the limbo and hula hooping, they absolutley loved it.

TL wins it for me just because it has more variety of things to do. I like BB but outside of it's superior thrill rides TL beats it on wave pool, themeing and has considerably more shade (it's easy to find the sun at TL if you want it, but it can be a right pain at BB if you get there late and all the good spots have gone).

Definately Typhoon Lagoon. B. Beach is good but you can't beat the "shark" pool at Typhoon lagoon - WORD OF WARNING! Take off your watch if you are doing the Shark Pool it is salt water and my boyfriend wrecked his watch (only a cheap one so not too much of a problem!)

Typhoon Lagoon - great theming, wave pool and more shade if you burn easily :smooth:

BB has a bit too much white painted concrete for me but is definately 2nd to W & W which is a distant (very) third

I love both TL and BB, but my kids love BB the best (6&9). They were devestated when it failed to re-open on time after rehab' in March this year!

We had planned to try Wet n Wild this christmas, but this post is putting me off!

it depends if you have kids, and the ages, but I think Blizzard Beach is brilliant for younger kids - they Tykes Peak area is superb and far superior to the equivalent at Typhoon Lagoon. At BB there are 3 or 4 mini versions or proper slides, Katie loved that she could go up, get a tube and slide down, just like the big kids.
Then, once they get the hang of that, there is the Ski Patrol area which is a step up from Tykes Peak, she tried a few of those slides at the end of the day and really enjoyed them.

PLUS - the family raft ride is just superb - I haven't laughed so much in years, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have to agree I was a bit worried about the theme, all that white concrete didn't appeal, but we had such a superb day that it just wasn't an issue.

We went to TL the following week, and were really disappointed, the kids area is poor, and mainly consists of things to spray water at other kids, which my dd hated, and the sand which seemed like a nice idea, just seemed to get everywhere. And, then we tried the family raft ride, and it is very short and nowhere near as good as BB, so we are completely sold on BB from now on.

Never done W & W. Blizzard Beach was too hot for me with all of the white around. Typhoon Lagoon was excellent - the slides were better - the wave pool was fab, overall the theming here was great !

I love blizzard beach but i havent been to the others. We loved blizzard so much that we didnt want to visit the others....after the response Typhoon Lagoon has got i think we mite b tryin that this year........only 26 days to go (yippeeeeeeeeee)

I fully agree that the Disney waterparks have the better theming.

However, don't be put off visiting Wet N Wild.
The place is very clean and offers slides/rides that match Disney.
There is an excellent play area for toddlers, and there are plenty of life guards throughout the park.

I had one of my most thrilling experiences here, which matched
Hulk, Kracken etc. They have an attraction where you stand and are enclosed in a bomb capsule. The operator closes the door behind you and there follows an agonising wait for him to pull
a lever which takes the floor from under you, dropping you almost
vertically onto a waiting slide. First time I went in this I was stood there with my eyes closed waiting for the inevitable when the operator said "Get your feet behind the red line." I looked down to adjust my feet ..... and guess what ..... there is no red line! Of course he pulled the lever just as I looked down and I saw myself plummeting to earth! Give this place a try, I am sure you will love it.

Barry.

Hiya :wave2:

I looove them all! Think TL will be first on my list this year so I can go on the new ride but I can & do intend to fit all 3 in.
