Wet/Dry Hair Straightener

Does anyone have a hair straightening iron that works on both wet and dry hair? The idea of being able to use this to dry and straighten my hair, instead of blow drying, then straightening sounds amazing! My get-ready time could be cut considerably with this. So, if anyone has one, how well does it work? What brands do you recommend? How much did you pay? I'm trying to find a good, but decent priced one. Thanks!

I bought one for my dds (can't remember the brand). It's OK. If your hair is at all thick or really wavy/curly, it still needs to be dried. It was definitely not strong enough to both dry and straighten my girls' hair (very long and thick). It sounds great in theory but not so much in real life. If your hair is very thin then maybe you'll be okay.

I have really thick hair, this is exactly why I hated it.

if your hairs wet, and you hot iron it- your steaming your hair.....there is a reason why your suppose to dry your hair before curling or hot ironing it...but I cant remember exactly why....

I dont blow mine out. I let it air dry then just flat iron it...doesnt take very long after I get out of the shower to be ready to iron....and this is with incredibly thick, naturally curly hair that has been chemically straightened..

I bought one of the new ceramic ones that are made for the purpose of drying and straightening. I also have very thick hair that takes forever to blow dry. The flat iron works for me. Just pin it up and work from the underside to the top. If you do it in small sections it works really well - for me, at least.

I also have one, a Remington Wet2Straight, and I love it, much faster than drying then straightening, and I have pretty thick wavy hair! I agree with the previous poster, straighten in sections!

Ex hairdresser here and I really don't think that putting that much heat directly on wet hair is good. That said, we have one of those. My oldest daughter has very, very curly hair, it works best if I just do a spray mist on her hair and then use the iron. I have never used it on really wet hair and I would never try that. I think it would take just as long because you have to keep running the straightener over the hair until it dries all the way.
