Westminster Dog Show starts tomorrow...

Just wondering if there are fans of the Westminster Dog Show on the DIS?
And why do the poodles always win?

Hey! Thanks for the reminder...I knew it was coming up, just did not know when.

As far as the poodles go, I always ask myself that same question.

A few years ago it was the peke. I don't like either breed.
YUK!

Wow! Lots of little dog lovers! Just once I would like to see an Irish Wolfhound win. I love those big dolts! They are so sweet.

Although, I do like dachs. too.

The Weimaraners hardly ever win. Being a Weim owner and lover, I could never understand that one...but oh well!

It seems the little lap dogs always win!

How about rooting for the goldens?? In case any of you miss it at night, USA plays it the next day. Or you can just watch it twice.

The first Bichon I ever saw was when J.R. won a few years back...I have had a love for Bichon's every since that night.....

I love the goldens! Our dog, Chloe, is part golden/part chow. She looks more like a golden.

I will watch, but as far as I am concerned, Westminster is a terrible dog show! It has gotten VERY political over the years, and makes attending as a participant very hard! I last went about 15 years ago. It is also a terrible place for getting around with a dog and all the accompanying praphenalia.

My DH's niece would agree with you. She has the #12 border collie (in the country). She said if she had enough points to go to Westminster, she would not. Too crowded and too political.

I watch it to see all the breeds. It is so fun to see a dog you would never get to see.

It is on the USA Network, I am not sure what time it starts.
Possibly it starts at 8 pm.

nagle ~ they usually show the terriers the first night. I am the "mother" of an Airedale (my second one) and absolutely adore the breed - King of the Terriers or is it the clown of the terriers?!
