Hi! Just purchased three seats to Orlando from Toronto on WestJet for October for $99 ea way. Taxes in $388 / pp. Not the greatest deal as I am sure Southwest will drop their prices soon but I didn't want to take the chance. The flight times were awesome for our family!

Congratulations:jumping2: to bad for the taxes.... That is the price for living in Canada.

It may seem a bit expensive but I actually think it's a fairly good price. Airline taxes are a killer. I was able to book 6 tickets through Airmiles flying with Westjet. The tax for each was 200$ and I also had to purchase 1 additional seat and that same seat with cash was a whopping 700$
Enjoy your trip in October! It's so cool having canadians on these boards.

I wonder if we'd get a better deal by driving across the border? Anyone ever done this?

I have and will be flying out next month from Burlington, Vermont on Jetblue for under 1400 CAD return for 5 pp. We do NOT choose this option in the winter months as Burlington is a very small airport and I'm not convinced they'd be functional during a large snowstorm. The drive is about 2 1/2 hrs. Well worth the trip IMO! In March we will be flying out of Montreal (tics booked with airmiles).

I watched the rates closely. They fluctuate throughout the day. Can never figure out the airlines.....

We have gone across the border several times and used Southwest. GREAT experiences every time.

This time, I just want to drive 20 minutes to the airport and go. More importantly, coming home we won't have to deal with the border crossing which has delayed us considerably in the past. Sunday afternoon back into Canada....ick!

Just keep checking the fares!

Sunwing also has good deals. We are flying next month for about $500 return per person incl. taxes. While this is a little higher it is still considered high season and they are direct flts Toronto to Orlando. I also like to pay the little more and fly out and into Toronto.

We are from Ottawa and are happy to drive the 3 hours to get 5 round trip tickets for 1247$ taxes and fees in. The added bonus is that we would have had to drive an hour to Kemptville to drop the dog with my mom anyway. So now we'll just swing by on our way to the airport.

Hi Everyone,

Sheribo - you were asking about flying from across the border. We are flying from Rochester in October, and paid $160 incl taxes return. For our family of six we paid around $900 including taxes (well, five tickets as DS is a lapbaby). This however is not a direct flight, but we decided to go with it anyways. We are flying with Delta.

We can't wait!!!!!

Wow! Now I'm looking into flights. While my family loves a road trip, we might be better off financially to fly. Considering the price of gas too.

$1200 round trip for 4 ppl out of Buffalo. Direct flight on Southwest. Not great but not bad either. Going in September for more free dinning!!! :cool1: :cool1:

I bought when SWA opened their October flights. We got $199.50 round trip. I find the travel time is pretty similar from Pearson or Buffalo. Pearson you have to deal with customs which means they want you there 2 hours before your flight. And Buffalo, customs is quick and you only have to be there an hour before (one time we were only half an hour before because we only had carryons).

Leaving Aug 24th flying out of Pittsburgh with SW 3 seats + lapbaby total $598.00 return with non stop flights It is a 4 hours drive but we decided to add a couple of days and do some shopping in Grove City prime outlet. When I checked with Westjet back in the last week of Apr they were quoting $3000.00. Sunwing was $2400.00.

The Disney part of our trip with free dining was $1400.00 usd. the Westjet flight alone was double??

Crazy not too!

I am eagerly watching the airlines. We usually fly from Detroit but are open to anything. We live about 3 hrs from Detroit and Buffalo and 2.5 hrs from Toronto. Flying from Detroit has always been a great/smooth experience. Can't say the same for Pearson! We are leaving the end of November so here's hoping SWA has their seat sale.

We're flying from Bostons Logan in Feb for $209 ,round trip taxes and fees incl ($188 before I think) on Delta.Normally we fly from Bangor Me. but it was $354 and when you X that by 6 people Driving to Boston suddenly seemed to make sense as we we were going to have to go the day b4 anyway.Flight leaves at 7 and we get into Orlando at 10;20 so we have lots of park time that day too

I just booked Westjet to FLL for 899.00 for 2 people direct flights. I didn't think that was too bad.

We usually fly with SW but I grabbed the WJ seat sale

The only Canadian company that seem to offereing reasonable prices are Sunwing.
We booked them for November...$49 down and $50 back + tax

I just booked 8 tickets with Air-tran for $2112 taxes included. It was the best price we could find as we've been watching the fares daily! We are flying out of Detroit.
