I have the WJ MasterCard too but have been thinking about giving it up. It would be much better if I lived in Calgary, but I’m finding that from
YVR, the prices are almost always higher than AC (enough to offset the companion voucher) and/or the flights are less convenient.

That is unfortunate. We always use Westjet and I travel frequently for work as well with them - I don't even look at the Air Canada schedules at this point as I really dislike them as an airline. You definitely have to travel enough to justify having the card which we do. It's too bad the flights in and out of YVR are not convenient - you would think both airlines would want to service that city well.
