Westjet leaving Airmiles

WestJet is leaving the Air Miles Reward Program at the end of 2008 -- which means if you've got a trip planned, you want to book before December 31, 2008 to snag those extra miles. WestJet's departure from the program does not affect your ability to redeem Air Miles, but, if you want to collect them you've got to book before the end of the year.

Dear WestJet Guests & AIR MILES Collectors,

WestJet will be leaving the AIR MILES® Reward Program as a Sponsor at the end of this year. This means that we will no longer be awarding AIR MILES® reward miles for flights booked at westjet.com after December 31, 2008. Until then, you will continue to earn one AIR MILES® reward mile for every $20 you spend on flights booked online at westjet.com.

Please remember, this change does not affect your ability to redeem your AIR MILES® reward miles any time for travel to great WestJet destinations within Canada and the continental U.S. To redeem your AIR MILES® reward miles for travel on WestJet please call 1-888-AIR-MILES.

Hopefully they will be soon announcing their long rumoured loyalty program that is supposed to be based on the Shopper's Drug Mart model - higher points & greater redemption value during low volume times.
