Westjet, AA and baggage fees ?

We have friends that have booked their flight from Halifax to Miami with West Jet. They fly from Halifax to Toronto on West Jet and Toronto to Miami on AA. She wants to know if she has to pay a baggage fee for both flights or just the $25/bag that includes both flights.

Is it a single booking with code share partnership? If so I would think it is $25 per direction. if she booked eac SEGMENT separately than it would be per SEGMENT. Your friend is best off contacting the airline for complete details.

The answer for this seems to vary. I would bet none on the way down if it is code share straight thru. When she checks in on way back she will pay because they do not honor the westjet mastercard...love that card.
