My family and I are staying at the Westgate Town Center this summer and I would like to know if anyone has stayed there. We are staying as guests of an owner. This is the first time that we will be staying off site and going to Disney. Any information would be great....activities, shopping, restaurants.

Disclaimer: I haven't been since CoVid so my opinion is based on things prior to CoVid.

We as a family agree this really is our favorite resort. Personally, I believe they have THE BEST poolside activities in comparison to many others I have stayed at. If you are going as a guest of an owner, please be sure to remind the owners to have the reservation noted to include waterpark admission. Waterpark is free for owners and guests of owners. You will get a calendar/activity schedule in your Welcome Package when you check in. Also, you can check their website about a month or two ahead of time, to see the activity schedule before you get there. They always have something to do and something to participate in. Try to spend a day or so just enjoying everything the resort has to offer. The activities team is GREAT!!! I always had my daughter make a souvenir to take home. Anyway, they have swan paddle boats, mini-golf, a shuttle that rides thru the resort. It looks like Thomas the Train. It's a nice enjoyable ride to see how large the property is. There are about 13 pools I think between Town Center area and Vacation Villas area. They share the same property so you are free to hop into any pool you like. I forget which ones hosts all the pool parties but it will be on the activity schedule. No matter which building you are in, you will be close to a pool. Then of course there is the WaterPark on property. If you have younger kids, don't be surprised if they would rather enjoy the resort than go to Disney. Many people find out they could have saved $$$ if they had known their kids would enjoy the resort so much. They also have bike rentals. The rentals are free for owners and guests of owners. Just as the paddleboats are. The landscaping is beautiful and well kept. I would NEVER HESITATE at an opportunity to stay there. Across the street from the entrance is the newest Walmart for the area. It even has a Walmart Mini-Mart right next to it in the gas station area. The resort is 30 seconds off of rt-192 on Old Lake Wilson Road. That area of rt-192 is 2 minutes from I-4 or take Sherberth Rd to AK. Sherberth Rd is one or two lights from Old Lake Wilson.

Anyway, I could go on and on. I LOVE Westgate Vacation Villas/Town Center. I also love that area of 192. I am sure others will chime in with other comments/suggestions. Good luck. I think you will have a GREAT time!!!

Best tip, use Sherbeth Road instead of 192. It takes you right to Animal Kingdom, follow the signs for wherever you’re going from there. A lot less traffic.
There are a bunch of stores in the area to help with your grocery needs, super Walmart right across the street.

Thank you so much for sharing! :duck:

Westgate will definitely bug you but unless you sign up for a promotional teaser rate from them you do not have to attend.

I was told by the timeshare holder that I would not have to attend because I was her guest using her points.
No you will not be required to attend. But the sales sharks will definitely be circling in the water. Just tell them NOT INTERESTED and keep moving. I hope you have as much fun as we always had. I can't wait to hear about your vacation!!! :goodvibes
