Anyone stayed at Westgate Town Center recently?

Views/Opinions?

Which building should we request?

Thanks

We were there July 3rd to 10th and enjoyed our stay. We were in bldg 5500, right next door to the main bldg. Our one bedroom was tight, but worked for the week.

1. No kitchen table, just a narrow ledge for meals.
2. Coffee table is heavy, once I moved it to open the sleepere sofa I did not put it back in place daily.
3. Loved having kitchen and washer and dryer in unit.
4. Our screened in porch overlooked the waterpark area (to be built).
5. Was short walk to 3 pools (12, 13, 14) and one was just across the street. All pools are smallish, but there are 14 so it seems to work. No waterslides at any pool.

Activities
1. Great AC in the activity center
2. Use the paddle boats, bikes and minigolf
3. Disney movies are shown daily (3, 5 and 7pm) in the movie theater, no charge bring your own popcorn. Get schedule at VIP desk.

Resort
Lots to do on site, busy roadways (be careful biking). Hope you enjoy your stay.

Just look at that big mess where the promised water SHOULD be and realize this is a group that does NOT do what they promise. Avoid any sales as they are extremely high pressure, will lie and promise anything to get you to pay big money for something that, if you actually want to buy there, is available for a few cents on the dollar on the resale market. Best advice is NEVER buy at any Westgate resort at any price. You should even unplug the phone during your stay unless you LIKE to be harassed early morning and late night during your stay to waste your time & be frustrated by a pushy sales presentation.

Enjoy the otherwise OK, certainly far from the best in Orlando, resort & ignore the sales weasels. If you do attend a meeting - whatever they may call it - DO NOT BUY or you will deeply regret it later.

No Tototoo, don't hold back your feelings, tell us what you really think! :lmao::rotfl::worship:

To OP, this is actually much nicer than some other posts I've read about Westgate. Someone else here had a horrible experience with the sales staff, they bullied her and called her names.

I agree and the consensus of opinion is that anything with the name WEstgate spells trouble. I know from experience and I now stay at Hilton, Sheraton, Mariott or Wyndham. The big four do not bother you or pressure you even if you do take a tour.

OP - You asked about this resort, not about Westgate.

You can have a really nice vacation here, don't worry about the sales pitch.

Hope you found my original post helpful. We don't own at Westgate, we traded in and had a fine stay.

By the way they were actually working on the irrigation system for the water park and pool area while we were there. I'm not sure they'll have it ready for next summer, but they were indeed working on the area.

OP can you come back and let me know how your stay was i will be staying October 9th thanks

I would also like you come back and comment. We are going on September 25th
thanks

We have stayed at Westage since 2005.

Villas - 2005 & 2006
Town Center - 2007 - 2009
Tower - 2010

We have enjoyed our stay each time. Very nice accomodations with the Town Center being our favorite. Though the kids did like having the pool at the Towers to themselves in June (we went to the pool on 3 different days and only once did we ever have pool mates - one other family).

We have gone to the sales pitch thing once.....wouldn't do it again. They always try to talk you into it upon check in. This year we just flat refused to even let them schedule a time......took a couple of minutes to convince them that we were definately not doing the tour but we finally got it through to them. We don't own with Westgate but always find good deals on redweek by renting from on owner. In the Town Center we like the building that looks out over the Swan Lake area and mini golf. Very relaxing to sit on the balcony and watch the water.

If you have specific questions ask and I'll try to answer.

Here are some pool and building photos from the Towers this year. The three properties are all in the same area and very similar.

I also have some room pictures of the Town Center on my facebook page, if anyone is interested message me and I'll tell you how to find me on facebook.

is there anywhere special i should try and request - we have a 2 bedroom
thanks

We stayed there January 2010 and loved it. We had a one bedroom with a lock out unit for my parents. I can't remember which building we were in but we could see Everest from our balcony and one of the pools.

The condo was GREAT!!! We do not like staying in a hotel room, we prefer more space, kitchen etc. Our one bedroom had a kitchen, dining table, washer dryer, huge sectional couch, king bedroom with Jacuzzi and a bathroom to die for.

We did not go to the sales meeting, thought about it, and then decided otherwise.

I don't think you will go wrong.
