Westgate Resort? Opinions needed...

I can get a free night at the Westgate Resort if I cash in my award miles from Milesource. Has anyone recently stayed at this resort?

Do you know which Westgate property? Westgate owns three properties in the Orlando area--Westgate Lakes (have heard nothing but great stuff about them), Westgate Towers (stayed there once--it was nice) and Westgate Villas--would not stay there EVER AGAIN even for FREE.

Belle1962: I contacted Milesource regarding the specifics, and they responded this am that the deal with Westgate has not been finalized, and did not have the location available. I guess I will have to wait for an update on their website and take it from there. If it is one of the "better" Westage properties, it would definitely be worth looking into.

Just returned from Westgate Lakes Resort. IMHO, try to get a better deal at any other timeshare. We had a 2/bed, 2/bath. They have lots of room but were basically dirty. Heard the same complaint for many other guests around the pool. It looks at though Westgate may be having financial problems. Half of the resort was closed down, motorized watersports discountinued, landscaping neglected. Various problem with broken stuff in room, ie toilet, dryer, but they were fixed promptly. Granted, there were nice aspects like the 52 inch tv in the living room but I don't go to Orlando to watch much tv. Tollway entrance ramp near WG is closed for at least 6 weeks due to a gas tanker accident/fire. Drive to WDW isn't bad unless you hit high traffic times which are frequent. All in all, I wouldn't return to WG for any type of deal since there is so much better to be found. So much for my experimentation vacation!!! Julie
