Westgate BAD!

Yes that is the place. I've read many different reviews on this resort and I just didn't feel it was worth the chance that it might ruin our vacation... If you feel comfortable staying there please do so but I just didn't want to take the chance.

The problem with Westgate is their inconsistency on units. It seems the newer ones are kept up but the older ones have been let go. If you happen to get put into an older unit (which it almost sounds like anyone but owners do) you could end up very upset.

The worse part is that if you complain they wont do anything about it.

You can take the chance but i wouldnt. We stayed there when we first started timesharing about 5 years ago and were quite happy but with the things I read and hear lately I wouldnt want to stay there again. There are too many resorts there to stay in one that you have to worry about what will happen.

We stayed there in January. It was our first trip offsite. The rooms were really nice. My parents got a great deal by listening to the timeshare presentation, which they said was hassle free. One thing I did notice was how packed the resort was in the middle of July.

Do you know if they stayed at the Villas, Lakes, Towers or Town Center? Some are newer than others.

We stayed at Westgate Lakes.

Sorry I missed that you had stayed there too. The Lakes are supposed to be better then the Villas. The Town Center is their newest section.

We stayed at Westgate Vacation Villas with mixed results. I don't know if you already have this phone number, but I have 1-800-801-9954 written down in my records for their customer service. We woun up staying in a nice, LARGE two bedroom and had a great week. But, that was after one night in a stuffy disco-designed one bedroom with turquoise furniture and no balcony. We simply complained and they upgraded us at no charge. The presentation was hard-sell and they don't even start to take you to the condo until your 90 minutes is nearly up, but we did expect that. You have to stand your ground about that 90 minutes! We recently go ahold of the newest version of the unnoffical guide to WDW, and there is an amazingly correct prediction of what a timeshare presentation experience is like in their book. The description is EXACTLY like a Westgate presentation. I was laughing while reading it! Good luck!
