what have you done or would recomend doing or seeing on a western cruise

We did hte trolly tour in Key West, was great history of the city. In Grand Caymen we did the Rum Point trip. that was wonderful. A nice quiet beach with eveything you would want and lunch was included in a great little eatery. In Cozumel we did the beach trip and was dissappointed.

Stingray tour in Grand Cayman!! What a wonderful trip. We booked through DCL and had a great time. Others have booked through independent tour operators and have had great times too! We also did the beach break excursion through DCL and it was okay, but $180 for four to go to a beach was a little expensive! If we do a beach again we are going to Paradise Beach on our own! :flower1:

We booked with Captain Marvins for snokeling and swimming with the stingrays in Grand Cayman. Very intimate and lots of attention. There were only 5 passengers (me and my 2 children and 2 other ladies). I've heard some of the other boats are crowded. We loved it! You can check out their web site www.captainmarvins.com

Stingray City with Captain Marvins! The staff was great, the trip was great! I would do it again in a heartbeat!!

We rented a electric car in Key West and got to see the city on our own. We had a great time. We went on Capt. Marvins Stingray City, Turtle Farm and Hell Tour in Grand Cayman. In Cozumel, we went on the Royal Swim with the Dolphins. We booked all our excursions ourselves. We loved them all. The kids favorite was the Dolphin Swim

What are your ports of call? Stingray City in Grand Cayman was awesome. The falls in Ochos Rios also tubing down the river in Ochos Rios. In Cozumel, Chankanaub park was beautiful (beach and swim with the dolphins). Costa Maya, definately do an excursion, otherwise you just sweat in a glorified shopping center (pretty area but not much to do), unfortunately I didn't book an excursion but those who did loved it.

Stingray city is really a unique experience. A must do!! Also, the snorkeling at Chankanab national park in Cozumel.....very very nice...highly recommend this also. Buy some vanilla in Cozumel, a great product and a great price. they sell it in all the stores. The stores closest to the pier had the best prices and sizes. Get some....you'll use it!!!

I read that (mackymaddieconners) rented at Electric Car. How did you arrange this? Sounds like alot of fun to be able to explore the city on your own. Would this Electric Car accomodate 3 people, how far can you go, what is the cost? :cool1:

We would really love to rent a Harley but we will have our 6 year old DD with us, maybe a sidecar would work.

We did the Fury Catamaran Snorkel / Sail / Beach Party in Cozumel and it was excellent. Reasonably priced at $42 per person for the entire afternoon - it was so popular on our October 23 sailing that we required two catamarans to accomodate everyone. The company that operates it is very professional and everyone who took part in this excursion appeared to have a really good time.

We also did some parasailing at Castaway Cay - that was a blast!

We did the sunset sail cruise in Key West... Very nice... A great way to see the sunset. However, if you have early seating you'll miss dinner. We barely made it in time for our late seating. We did Stingray City with Captain Marvins. It was great and I highly recommend it. I can't wait to go back one day. In Cozumel we did Dolphin encounter at at Chankanaab National Park. My kids 3 and 6 enjoyed the dolpin encounter the best because it was on platform. They were more afraid of the stingrays but did good considering.

Offroading in Cozumel!!!! That was the highlight of my Western cruise!

We rented the electric car from a company that was right across the street from a famous bar. When you get off the ship and start walking there are people driving in them and they will drive you to there shop. It was very reasonable. I think it was $60.00 for three hours. It will fit 3. It was my husband, 3 kids and me in the car. My kids loved it

has anyone done the Xcaret excursion in Cozumel. The passporter gave a great review, but i haven't seen anything about on the boards? :confused3

We did this about 10 years ago on our honeymoon and loved it. On the other hand my aunt did it this past May and hated it. First, you take a smallish boat from the pier to land. She got very seasick and the rest of the trip was miserable for her. She didn't think the park was very clean, etc.... She said everything was worn out, etc... So, I don't know what to tell you. I take everything she says with a grain of salt since she tends to blow things out of portion. But who knows. HOpefully, some with more recent experience can help you.
