Western Excursion suggestions

Thanks to everyone so far...keep any kind of tips ore expereinces coming. We love learning from you!

Woody ,
Why would you say cozumel stay on boat and relax ??
Would you say it's not worth it ? bad experiences ? I am really interestedbecause it's a port I know nothing about and if they're is trouble or nothing worth it I'll stay on board .
I think you have to tender ( small boats ) isn't it ? If we choose to do it just to look around ( walking no excursions ) is there anything worth seeing , nice shopping.........
Would like your input .
Thanks :sunny:

Is cozumel worth it ? good excursions ? anything to see just by walking around ?
Don't know that port of call so I am wondering if they're is something to do not too pricey ?
I also think we have to tender not sure .... do we have to get up at the crack of dawn like for st thomas ?
Any idea for an excursion ?? ( don't swim lol....)
Thanks :sunny:

Can you tell me more about the Fury Catamaran snorkel? Isn't this a DCL excursion? Tell what is so great about it please....going in November with a 9 yo and 6 yo.

Of all the ports we visited (DCL's Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean, Panama Canal, and Special Itineraries), Cozumel is our least favorite port because of the annoying behavior by street vendors, taxi drivers, and store merchants. Now, some people don't mind that type of behavior, but we would rather avoid it.

I don't think we are alone feeling this way. Here some comments from another thread.

. . . As far as Cozumel itself...I did not care for it AT all. But we did not go down to the beaches. Just did the sub, bought some birthstones at a shop, then headed back.

Someone said their kids arm was grabbed to get them in the store. . .

. . . Just stay on the water front side if you don’t wanna be bothered by every store vender along the way . . . .

This is the part that drives me the most crazy about visiting there. I know it's some kind of tradition for them, but sorry, I just find it highly annoying. The last time we were there we went in the one shop that was on DCL's 'good' list that didn't have the pushy barker in front.

. . . will be going real soon, and frankly, so far have no interest in getting off the ship there.

. . . We aren't really into haggling and quite frankly get turned off by the "pretty lady come and shop with me". Some people love it - we don't. . .

Has anyone done the sub excursion in Cozumel? We have a 11,8 and 6 yo. Also, any areas close by we could do some snorkeling? We will be there in Sept. :dance3:

Thanks for all the feedback thus far.

Anymore ideas!

At Key West we did the Old Town Trolley and Conch Train Tour - This was great at first but the last half we were ready to get off the Trolley..... The last half was quite boring compared to the first half.
At Grand Cayman we did the Island Tour and Snorkeling with the Stingrays - This was awesome!! There was just enough time at each location... you did not feel rushed. It was worth the money!! Awesome experience.
Cozumel..... We did the Cozumel Ruins and Beach Tour. - We were not impressed with the Cozumel Ruins... it was very boring... very difficult to understand the tour guide. All the kids in the group were not interested either. The beach was great!!
We hope this helps!! We hope you have a great time on your cruise.....

I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on the dolphin encounter? Was it worth the $? Thanks!
