Which is better ~ Port or Starboard for sailing the Western.

As far as scenery is concerned.

TIA

In GC you tender so it really doesn't matter. In Cozumel you pull up & the dock is on your left. ( I don't want to try the proper word so I don't mess it up. LOL!) There is another ship on the other side of the dock so you would just look at that ship on the left side. The right side has nothing else there so that IMO would be the best view of the open water. At CC the ship backs in so again the right side would be the best view of the island. When we docked at KW the ship pulled in with the right side against the pier so if you want to look out over Mallory Square, that would be the one. Guess that the right side would be the best IMO. :)

Thanks Lisa!

I have 7120 booked for March 11, 2006 which is Port.

I usually go with Starboard but was wondering if one is better than the other.

Maybe should stick with Starboard!

Thanks Again!

Starboard was good for us. Beautiful pulling up to Key West and actually watching the captain do his thing. AT GC we could sit on the balcony and watch the tenders coming and going. Cozumel we had a beautiful view of the island and the other cruise ship pier. Also could watch the escort boats running along side us. Backing into Castaway was a fantastic view. We sat on the balcony and watched the banana boats, jet skis...all the activity. And early, very early on the last morning sat outside and watched them unload and re-load the ship. It was a great view the entire trip.

Left = port, right = starboard ("left" and "port" both have four letters).

Advantages to portside: Faces the sunset at Key West, so you can sit on your verandah and enjoy (and watch all the other boats go by). Once the ship alongside leaves in Cozemel you have a great view of the island. Your required lifeboat drill is on the shady side of the ship if you need to report to Deck 4.

Face it, you can't go wrong as you're on the ship!

Thanks!

I will stick with 7620 since it's the cabin we also have for the August Repo Cruise!

It will be like coming HOME!LOL

I've already joked with a CM that they will have to just put my name on the door!LOL

Sounds great! I did forget about the lifeboat drill being in the sun on that side. We went in December so it really wasn't too bad for us but it was nice being in the shade when we were in 7010 the year before.
