We are going on the western 7 day in Sept. I am wondering, what should we plan to do in Key West, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman? My son just turned 2 a couple of weeks ago.

We took him on the 3 day back in April...just to check out his sea legs...LOL! And he had a wonderful time!!!!

DH and I have been to Key West and Cozumel many times, just not with DS. We have never been to GC. We usually like to do our own thing, and not book excursions...that way we can be on our own schedule and it is always cheaper. But we will consider excursions if anyone can recommend something you think we would like.

I would really like to take DS to a nice aquarium or something like that...are there any at any of these stops??

Thanks for your help!! :)

I took my son on the Western when he was 18 months and 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 :) He is a big animal lover...so, I took him to the sea turtle farms in Grand Cayman..he loved it! I just took him walking around and got ice cream in Key West... and in Cozumel I only took him out shopping last time but next time I will take him swimming w/the dolphins. we did that ourselves and it was awesome! You will love it and he loved the clubs as well!

Ok, we took our oldest on the western, just a few days after she turned 2. I would suggest the butterfly conservatory or the aquarium in Key West. We took her on Capt. Marvin's Stingray City excursion (we booked it ourselves). She stayed on the boat when we stopped to snorkel, and DH just went and snorkeled. But, when we got to the reef for Stingray City, we took her in the water. We got her one of those floaty swimsuits, and just held on to her. She had SO much fun there. She still talks about swimming with the "fishies". And, in Cozumel we did one of the beach breaks, one that had the beach and a pool. She had fun there too.

Thanks for the replies! Alikat, I was wondering about stingray city, and if DS was old enough for it. Was this an all day excursion? I am worried about his attention span, LOL.

I'm interested in suggestions as well because DS will be 20 months when we cruise the Western itinerary this December.

There seemed to be many of the toddler thru preschool aged children at the Key West aquarium who were having a good time. Don't miss the sharks. :teeth:
