We have never been on a Western Caribbean and wonder if there is a limit of the # of bottles each person can bring home with them? I know on the Eastern Caribbean as long as you purchase a bottle of spirits made in the islands you are allowed something like 6-8 bottles a person (At least I think). Just curious if there is a limit on the WC.

I do know DCL will take them when you board ship and you can pick them up at the end of the cruise. We are looking to purchase a bunch to stock our bar when we return home not to drink on the ship!

TIA

It doesn't have to do with whether it's East or West. It's what customs allows you to bring in.
You can look that info here: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/list/search/1/kw/alcohol allowance/suggested/1

What can I bring back from the Caribbean?

As a general rule, travelers to Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI)countries are allowed a $800 duty-free exemption on their return to the U.S. You may include two liters of alcoholic beverages with this $800 exemption, as long as one of the liters was produced in one of the CBI countries.

The duty exemption for travelers returning from the U.S. Virgin Islands is $1,600. You may include 1,000 cigarettes as part of this exemption, but at least 800 of them must have been acquired in the U.S. Virgin Islands (keep your receipt). You may include five liters of alcoholic beverages in your duty-free exemption, but one of them must be a product of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, or American Samoa.

**All U.S. Citizens traveling to the Caribbean will be required to present a passport before boarding an outbound plane.

This is specific to the duty for bringing in alcohol, you can bring more than this, it just has to be declared and you have to be ready to pay your duty.

Thank You! Yes I knew it wasn't EC or WC specific just knew the allowances were different depending where the ship visited.

Any idea how much "duty" would be for each additional bottle?

And have a plan for transportation when back on the US mainland!

That is true but since we live 60 minutes from port it is easy :)
