Our neighbour Quintin passed away in the night. He was just home from hospital a little over 3 days. It is still such a shock as he was fine when we set off on vacation a little over 5 weeks ago. Well, he had apparently had a few headaches that the Doc put down to stress, but this was a very aggressive tumour. At least he is out of pain. Please remember his wife, Jetta, and 2 children. Jetta and Quintin only moved here from Scotland this last New Year.

We will keep this family in our prayers. How very sad.

. Jackie you can't say Banfi, which btw, I never did get a taste of.

Well I've got a bottle here just waiting for someone to share it with!
Hey....that reminds me. We had a bottle at dinner one night and didn't finish it, they saved it for us but we never got it back (well, never asked for it either)! AND the night we opened it was a night you weren't at dinner, because I was going to send a glass over to you. :worried:

Jackie---can you add "work in progress" near my tr's info on post 1??

Will do! :thumbsup2

Today I lost my cell phone!
Jackie, I know you're laughing at me!

I'm going to have to borrow that tag "...my brain leaks"!

NO....I wouldn't laugh at you (Peg might). Well, the dumping out the purse moment may have gotten a chuckle out of me. ;)

Marilyn, prayers for your friends family.

We got advised yesterday that they are 'freezing' our retirement fund (with modest cost of living increases to be applied each year). BUT, they are increasing our 401K match to $ for $ instead of 50 cents on the dollar for an up to 5% contribution. There was an interesting note that 30% of the employees do NOT (currently) use the 401K...and this is a hugh Fortune500 company. That really surprised me. Not saving something in a company match 401K is like turning away free money!

Uh oh, time to get ready for work.

.....later kids......

MONICA. added Work in Progress on page one.

Oh, and a BBC is Baileys Banana Colada :thumbsup2

.....off to the shower......

Goodmorning all,
Well, it is our annual cleaning fest which leads to the annual sell everything on ebay and garage sale fun. Today is DD's last day of PreK, she's growing faster than I can keep track of her. I sense college right around the corner. I took Brenda's (Gatorfamily) advice and saw College Road Trip onboard and I feel it coming today. Since there has been nothing on TV at night we have discovered a new channel "Ovation" arts channel. They've been running really cool film documentaries every night that we've been really enjoying. We've seen a couple of movies - boy was I surprised at how fun the Transformers movie turned out. And am on the 3rd Philipa Gregory book (while I clean) and have listening to all the podcasts that I've downloaded while I walk each morning. I'm going to lose this extra weight or else! I'm supposed to be writing an article a day for our podcast and radio show (launching this summer), but have been semi avoiding work until I have a thoroughly purged house. I keep saying, "Does this clutter make my butt look fat?" (for those who don't know that is the title of the Peter Walsh book.) We've had cool overcast weather each day here, but we finally have some warm sunshine coming today - I feel for everyone who is having bad weather around the country. It has been our top story here... well weather and the gay marriage laws changing next week.

Another fire has started in the Santa Cruz mountains. Calls for evacuations have been made. Just too scary and too much too soon. Paul just told me it is close to our church camp. Yikees!!! Please send prayers for containment our way.

And we're socked in with fog all day everyday. They've been showing the fires down here on every broadcast.

Well, chalk another one up on the cruise crud list. I just heard from Heather's mom and she's in the hospital with pneumonia. :worried: Although my throat has been hurting just about nonstop since the next to last day of the cruise, it's not enough to think it's anything, so I feel very lucky to count myself as one of the lucky few who escaped getting sick. I hope everybody who was sick is feeling better or will feel better soon! :grouphug:

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts about our neighbour. I have just met his wife and she is doing good considering. She actually said is is just 3 weeks since his diagnosis! The most aggressive type of tumour.

How awful that Heather is in hospital. :worried: I hope she is soon well. Both John and I have been fine since the cruise - I feel so thankful when I hear of everyone who hasn't been.

Dennis is still not over it. He went to urgent care and got antibiotics last Thursday and seems a bit better now, but wow! it has lasted forever with him. It is making me nervous, but he was checked and our local urgent care has always been really good. They did catch pneumonia with him a couple of years ago.

I'm so sorry. I know how you feel since we just went throught the same thing. I think it is harder when it happens so suddenly.

I've had company since I got home. He left yesterday so I have more time now. At least I can go to the pool now!

I know how you feel. I'm losing my tan and I was hoping, since it was so close to summer, I could just go and lay out but we haven't had much sun. Today is the first day of summer so beach here we come! Brooke woke up this morning and said "What are we doing today? It's summer". I'm scared she wants me to keep her busy everyday.

My new goal is to clean out the house as if we were moving. I'm going to go through every cabinet and drawer and get rid of a lot of things. This is the longest we've ever lived in a house and I feel like we need to move so I'm hoping this helps.

Poor Dennis, he ahs been ill for a long time now. Good to hear he has been checked out and that the antibiotics are working.

That is just what I want to do too Gaylean. Pretend we are moving. But, we're not, so getting down to doing the clear out is not really happening!:rotfl:

I hope he gets over it soon. Jon had some kind of sickness last year for three months. We kept taking him to urgent care and they thought it was pneumonia and then it wasn't. Nothing worked. He finally got a good doctor that gave him some medicine that worked in a few days. We still aren't sure exactly what the illness was.

I am selling Olivia's two dresses on the ebay which she never worn it on the Cruise as these are new dresses.

then received evening wedding reception in August:(

We'll make a promise to do it together, on the same day, so the DISing doesn't get in the way. But not today :lmao: :lmao:

To everyone still suffering from the "cruise crud", take it easy and remember, rest and water are 2 of the best things you can do for yourself! I hope you all get better very quickly.

Even worse, she missed Bethany's birthday party. But she's hoping to go home today.
