Is it likely at all that Disney will have any cruises from the west coast in the summer of 2006?

Thanks!

Probably not. The latest rumor is that when DCL builds a 3rd ship which is just a matter of waiting for the exchange rate (Euro) to go down to make it more financially feasible then the Magic will move to the west coast on a permenant basis.

Since the go ahead hasn't been given and it takes 2+ years to build a ship the earliest you might see a new ship is late in 2007, but don't hold your breath.

We have all been waiting for a few years now.

Not a chance for 2006, DCL already released the schedule & many people are already scheduled for 2006. Yes we are one of them :-)

Like Buddy Bear stated, new ship = permenant placement on left coast for the Magic...

actually, 3rd ship does not mean permanent placement of the Magic in CA.

I spoke with a DCL rep a couple of weeks ago at a travel show. Yes, a 3rd ship is approved, plans are finalized, contract is drawn up but won't be signed until the EURO/USD exchange hits 1.24 When the 3rd ship is done it will sail out fo FL along with the Wonder & Magic. This will give them the chance to offer different itineraries/ports in the Caribbean.

The FOURTH ship (5-7 years out at this point) is what they have slated for CA.
