Has anyone had any success in finding anything out about when the formal and semi-formal nights are going to be for the 7 day west coast cruises?!?!

Because my cruise is 7/30, every time I call DCL they tell me to call back about a month before I cruise. Well, for someone with a compulsive planning disorder :rotfl: that just doesn't sit well with me. Sooooo, I hoping maybe someone cruising May or June has found something out and if so PLEASE SHARE IT..............

We cruise 7/9 and keep getting the same response!!! :confused3 It is soooooooooooooo frustrating!!! :sad2: I hope someone finds out something soon!

We are on the second 7 day cruise, June 4th, and they keep telling us that they won't know when formal and semi is until a couple weeks before cruising....and it's driving me insane! I wish they could just tell us.... but I'm figuring that it will probably be:

Formal- on Monday
Semi- on Friday.

...but I could be wrong! As soon as I find out, I will post it! :flower:

thanks diznefan76 for offering to post when you find out! It's exasperating that they offer the REAS (which we have purchased), which allows you to book Palo and spa ressies in advance and request a dining rotation....but then they won't tell you when the formal/semi-formal nights are so you can choose your ressies and make decisions without major conflicts! UGH!!! :sad2: With the first 7-day being on May 28th, I simply don't believe that they don't have it all planned! Come on, DCL!!!

Those of us on the FIRST boat out of LA would be happy to share info LIVE from the boat if those behind us would like to start collecting $$$ for our internet access package...LOL... :rotfl: We don't know either...I am not guessing 3rd night like usual on east coast as that is PV day (latest port). I would guess formal night on 2nd night instead, but that is pure guessing. We are unsure if there is Pirate night or anything pirate:

My guess is formal night on Sunday and semi-formal on Thursday. The days at sea are most like the Eastern itinerary, and they have the formal night on Sunday. And even though Thursday is a port day, we leave Cabo early. I think Friday would be out because that is the night we have to pack and have our luggage out. Just a guess, of course!

i'd like to know too! and ours is the very last one, before it heads back to florida! :flower:

I'm with mommykeg-Sun formal and Thurs semi. I'm thinking they wouldn't do anything special on Friday because your bags have to be out that night so it wouldn't make sense. So, I'm thinking Thursday also, due to the 3:30 departure time. It's killing me............

I've never cruised, so why is it so important to know when these nights are? Can't do anything to change it, so why worry about it.

For me the reason I want to know is because we booked the REAS which allows you to make your Palo's ressies in advance of the cruise, thus avoiding the well discussed "ressie rush". I don't want to make my Palo's ressie on a night when they're doing the formal or semi formal events...I want to enjoy those in addition to Palo's, not instead of. Other than that, I wouldn't care much. :flower:

Thats my guess too.
I want to know the themed nights/menus too because Im hoping to do Palo on the night of the Captains Gala menu. If thats formal night I want a different night because I dont want to miss formal night. I dont mind missing semi formal though.
Why wont they just announced this!!!

Amen!!! Why won't they!!! :sad2:

Also with REAS, you get to request a dining rotation...I'd like to be in Lumiere's for formal night if possible, so I need to know when formal night is to request my rotation.

I'm new to all this too. So is the Captain's Gala menu not so great? And I thought the Captain's Gala was always formal anyway? Also, what's the difference clothes-wise between formal and semi-formal? My hubby already told me he is not renting a tux.:confused3

For those of you on the REAS, I want to strongly remind you that your dining rotation request, is just that, a request. We had booked the REAS for our November 2004 cruise and didn't receive ANY of our dining requests, with the exception of our Palo ressies. So, don't be too disappointed if you don't receive what you request. Also, I'm in agreement with the Sunday formal night and Thurs semi-formal night. The Captain Gala menu (the one with the lobster) is served during semi-formal night.

Its not that its a bad menu, just nothing that really appeals to me. I could find something on it (plain steak), but Id rather not miss out on the other menus that are more appealing to me. So its nothing really that makes it bad, just my personal taste.
I thought the Captains Gala menu was semi formal night(at least on one, the Eastern or Western, cruise), so Im hoping its the same for the CA cruises.

For me the difference is a long dress for formal night and a cocktail type dress for semi formal or Palo.
