The Disneyland site is not only offering reservations for the West Coast Cruises (it sends you to the DCL website), but they are also offering a 2005 Homecoming package to add on to your cruise. It includes your room at one of the three DL hotels, a 4 day park-hopper, a 50th anniversary clock, a "Walk in Walts Footsteps" tour for each person. I just booked three days for after my cruise to go to Disneyland.

I just got a quote for this package for my three night stay before my cruise and it is about $300 more than the price I got as a direct add-on land package with my cruise. My 3 nights at GC inluding hopper passes (no clock, or book) was $1578.00, the quote on the Disneyland web site was $1843.00. Just thought I'd tell you about the price I got.

The difference in price is due to the Tour of Disneyland. The Walking in Walt's Shoes is a tour of Disneyland.

So does this mean it is now possible to book rooms at the Disneyland property hotels next summer? Do I go to their website or what number do I call to do this?

Brenda

opps, sorry. I thought the "Walt" thing was a book....duh. anyhow, I booked my Pre-Land package with DCL directly when I got my quote for the cruise yesterday. They were able to give me cruise, insurance, pre-land package, gvmt tax, air tax and air add-on all in one quote.

The only thing you can book for 2005 is the Happiest Homecoming Package. You have to follow the link to that particular area of the site. It is for stays less than or equal to 3 nights. It includes the items i listed above. One reason we went with this is that we wanted to stay after our cruise and DCL said that WDL is not letting them book that weekend as it is the actual anniverary dates. The DL website did let us book that weekend on the Happiest Homecoming Package.

I booked 3 "pre-day"s on land thru DCL. They did tell me that if you went outside a package that they fully book, there is a $50 surcharge on the air arrangements for pre or post days. No surcharge if they book the package.

I noticed that Expedia is now booking rooms for next year at the on site hotels. It requires full payment up front but I was seeing $160 at Paradise Pier $200 at Disneyland Hotel and $260 per night at Grand Californian, not sure if that's a better deal than the package or not for you.

When I asked Dreams Unlimited about adding the pre-trip stay on my cruise, my agent said that they only do packages with a 3 day hopper ticket (it's not the happiest homecoming package) is that similar to information you received?

Wow, that's seems very expensive to me. As an annual passholder at DL we always look for discounts. This summer was "light" at DL. DL hotel rooms were discounted all throughout the summer. In fact I have reservations this weekend at the Disneyland Hotel for $131 per night with Expedia. So. Cal. CostCos offered a special 3 or 4 day park hopper for a step discount too this summer. (Can't remember the exact price) Check www.mousesavers.com for discounts during the year. I will let you know if there are any CostCo discounts for next year.
Don't forget the high food prices at DL resort too! My best bet is the White Water Cafe just outside the pool at the Grand Californian for those trying to save money. Same prices as fast food inside the park but much better. They even give a 10% discount on the food bill if you have an annual pass. Don't have to be a GC guest to eat here. We go there on day visits!

I am a DL annual passholder and just booked 3 days pre and 3 days post cruise through the DL hotel reservations directly. Hotel only, since we didn't need park tickets. So I think you can book now without buying into a whole package!

Our cruise is July 9-16, 2005.

I have booked the same as you at DGCH, same price through dreams, Do you know if the park hopper is for 'any three days' or from check in to check out?
