So my DH and I went on a tour Sunday. We find out once we are in that whatever special we are offered, we only have three days to jump on it to get it (yeah, thanks for telling us BEFORE we sign up for the tour). Wonderful considering we were just taking the tour for more info for when we are HOPING to buy in one year.
Anyway, our guide told us basically that if we did not take advantage of the current promotion, when we call back at a later date, we would basically be out of luck and have to pay full price. As compared to right now with a friends and family deal, Disney would pay about 1/3 of our down payment and give us 150 points with a use year from Aug. 2005 to use in addition to those we actually pay for beginning Aug. 2006.
Has anyone else had this happen and you still got a special some time later?
For everyone in general, what kind of special did DVC give you when buying in, if you don't mind me asking? Just trying to see if all these specials generally amount to the same thing, dollar-wise, in the long run. Buying in right now is not much of an option, and I'm just wondering if we would end up paying more than the other Joes walking into the DVC tour in December.
