Were you happy with your Memory Maker Photos?

Just curious if the quality is the same with Memory Maker. We loved Photopass. Being able to leave my SLR at home and having everyone in the picture was so nice.

We didn't have any blurry shots. Everything turned out great. But I noticed the cost has gone up.

PhotoPass is the photo-taking service, so if you used PhotoPass before, nothing has changed, it's still the same service. Memory Maker is a product you can buy.

I was happy because while they took pictures I took video, I was able to make a video scrapbook of our trip.
Over the course of 7 days I only had 2 sets of photos I didn't care for... They messed up with zooming to far in when my son met woody & Jessie, unfortunately that was one of the character meets I didn't video :( They only took 2 pictures when he met them which I didn't understand because most all characters I have 6+ pictures, the second I didn't care for was unfortunately in front of the castle we were all squinting badly & I wish the photographer would of looked at the pic to see it wasn't a good one.

I used it last fall and thought it was worth it then even though we really only took advantage of the character and ride photos. I like how I could keep original and editted photo(s) if I wanted so I could play with borders and stickers and not use later if I wanted. Ride videos (ToT and 7DMT) were neat too.

We have used the PhotoPass before and plan on getting it again on our next trip, but am curious about the Memory Maker. Can someone tell me what Memory Maker actually is?

You can't "get" PhotoPass, you can use it, since it's the free photo-taking service. Memory Maker allows you to get downloads of all the PhotoPass pictures you get taken, including the ones taken at rides and dining locations.

I loved ours. I have two shots of my daughter dancing with Belle at Enchanted Tales, one from my camera and one from Disney's photographer, on Flikr. Mine is a blurry mess and the colors are unsaturated. Disney's looks crisp and beautiful.

We loved ours. Split between 3 families we had over 900 photos and very few that I wasn't satisfied with, and I am super picky. The magic shots were great to have and the ride videos were super cool. We even had a magic shot that was a "video". Sven comes into the picture, licks the screen and makes a silly face. My kids thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Well then I guess we "used" Photopass and purchased the Memory Maker the last time we were there. I did not know the difference, thank you :) for clarifying.

We really liked the majority of our photos. There were only a few that weren't good. I will say we did prefer the old system, where it included a CD with all the photos. Now you have to buy the CD separately. Also, be aware that the majority of character meals will not have a photo pass photographer, so Memory Maker won't help you there.

We were very happy with the quality and the ability to print what we wanted from home. Big recommendation is to keep track of the time and day you took photos/rides/etc.. when we had it in Oct. there were several pictures of other people on my account on rides and in some cases when we took just regular photos in front of the castle. Went to guest services or the ride photo counter (splash mountain was the worst offender of getting the wrong on ride photo) looked through the pictures at around the time we rode /took photo and got them to fix it. If you are into taking lots of photos using their service it pays for itself pretty quickly. We will get the memory maker again on our next trip this coming Oct. Big tip - Check your photos online daily when you are there to keep a big disappointment away when you get home so if you see a picture missing you can get it added at the park. Hope that helps!

I was happy with it because we did a share for $25. I had many pics that were terrible. Some of them from one night at Epcot you can't even see our faces. I would not pay full price for it.

Well actually, according to your signature, you last went to WDW in 2013, and Memory Maker wasn't introduced until late 2013, so what you probably got was the PhotoPass + CD, which is probably why you thought you "got" PhotoPass.

Quality of pics were good. Ride photos didn't turn out well just because my daughters face always stemmed to be hidden.

Since you've used Photopass before and asked what MM is now:
In the past, Photopass was posed shots at photographers and you got them digitally on a CD.
Now, you get digital copies of those same photographer shots, you get ride photos and videos (7dwarfs and Tower of Terror are short videos of your ride and you still get the regular photo too), posed shots in front of certain character dining like the Mickey statue outside chef mickey, with Belle at Akershus, with Cinderella at CRT, etc are included now. You get unlimited free downloads that you can burn onto a CD yourself if you like, but Disney does not provide the CD (except maybe it's available at additional cost?)

I was very happy with our photos. At character meets, the photographer was usually snapping a lot of shots, at things like Jedi Training or Enchanted Tales With Belle you get LOTS of photos. Like a PP said, in some cases my own pictures of the same event came out washed out or blurry and the pros were much better! Ride photos were fun and something I usually wouldn't buy, but so glad I have them since the were already included.

Does anyone have the link to buy the CD? I have purchased MM and thought I could also purchase a CD instead of downloading. We live in the stix and our internet is too slow to download quickly.

I went back and checked my Disney info from 2013 and that is exactly what I got. And is it still the same time limit to download the pictures once you get home?

We got it last year but are unsure whether we will buy in advance this year. They take a number of pictures each time and most of the pictures we got were good (or as good as they can be when the people being photographed have spent the day in 90+ temps!), but unless you really love having multiple pictures of the same thing it may not be necessary and doing individual downloads could be cheaper. We were happy to just have one from each character meeting and of our group in front of the castle. They did not have photographers at any of our dinning character meetings though, which would have really added to the number we'd have wanted. I think (sure someone will correct me if wrong) they are like $15 to download individually. So if you want just the 8 best pics (in addition to all of your own) then it is cheaper to do individually than buying the advance purchase memory maker. Though if going with a large group, for a longer stay or doing a lot of character meetings then memory maker probably comes out cheaper pretty quickly and would be worth buying in advance.

We just got back and had memory maker for the first time. We did tons of character meets and stopped several times to get shots in the park so we had almost 300 pictures in 4 days. The quality from one photographer to the next is inconsistent at best. Some were really great and got wonderful shots, like my daughter's delight as she ran up to meet Mickey. And some really took their time making sure we were all lined up just right. Others seemed like they could not care less and when I looked at the pictures, someone's face might be blocked in a posed shot or we were all off center in front of a landmark. I'm not sure I would pay full price again, but might look into doing a share next time.
