Were there any discounts in June 07? 06? 05?

Did anyone get any kind of a discount in June? DS is now in Junior High and I won't be able to take him out of school to go to WDW anymore. I have never been in June. Any advise for room or package discounts?

I'm hoping to go the first 2 weeks of June. Maybe the 5-17 or somwhere around that time.

We had an AP rate for our trip this past June 6-12. Were able to get the YC for $269 per night which was alot better than the $323 AAA rate I had originally booked. This AP rate came out exactly 3 weeks before our trip. Hated the waiting but it was worth it.

I'm pretty sure I had a PIN code for June 2005, but that's been awhile now. I'd like to think I'll get one for June 2008, but I've decided holding my breath may not be so good for me. I've booked the AAA rate, and will hope for the best! Worse case - I get only the modest discount.

You both mentioned AAA. What if you book through AAA and then a code comes out? Do you have to cancel and re-book through Disney World directly? Do you book room only through AAA or a package? I have had AAA for years and have never booked a trip through them. I like being able to put a deposit down and make payments. Can I still do that with AAA?

The discounts for June 2007 and 2006 have been slim. Often the only discounts available have been in the DVC resorts. June and July have gotten so busy that Disney have no problem filling the resorts. Discount at the value resorts during June and July have not been seen for years. Check the history page for more detailed dates. With the new room rate system, even if you book during a discount period, your room rate will go to full price once the discount ends, whereas in the past you would've kept the discount throughout the entire trip. Good Luck, book what you can afford at full price, that way you won't have sticky shock if a discount does not appear. I guess folks were mentioning AAA, because there have not been much in terms of AP discounts for the past couple of summers. We do, however, see discounts in August.

I booked my AAA rate for room only directly with Disney CRO. When the AP rates came out, I called Disney. I was booked at YC but AP was not available for my dates so I moved my res to BC. Just because a discount comes out, you can not just transfer your reservation. I had really wanted YC so I kept checking availability and 6 days before our trip I was able to get YC.

I, too, booked through Disney CRO - room only (have no-expire tickets from prior trip). And yes, you can pay ahead of time as you said - the rules for what you MUST pay are a bit different for room-only vs. package, but if you prefer to pay more than the minimum deposit (if you did room only, for example,only requires one night deposit), you should be able to do that through CRO. I don't know many details if you go through AAA.

Thanks guys for your help. I picked June because I was thinking it wouldn't be quite so muggy. In comparing June and July and August. I was also hoping for less crowds but I'm only guessing at that. Maybe I'll post a new thread asking for opinions on which summer month to pick.

I did look up AAA's room rates and YC/BC were $50 cheaper and Ak and WL was almost $30 cheaper. I also didn't realize you could book AAA rates directly through Disney so thank you.

I think I will take your advise and book a rate I can live with and if I get a code then great and if not then that will be ok too.
