Were the seats changed on RnRC with the last refurb?

We found the seats so uncomfortable when we rode in August 2023 - so much so that RnRC may not be a must-do any more! Just wondering if it was my imagination

I did not notice any difference in the seats when I rode. My bigger challenge with RnRC has always been remembering to tuck my head into a corner to minimize the head bouncing around.
I kept reminding dh to press your head back into the headrest. Of course I do this on every rollercoaster. But RnRC, I was particularly concerned. He’s had cervical disc replacements, and though his doctor says no limitations, I still worry.

Not sure on the seats though. When *was* the last refurb?

We rode it 2 weeks ago and wondered the same thing. Except because the seats were more comfortable and we didn't get bounced around as severely as we did previously. We were in row 2.

There was a multi month refurb earlier this year, reopening in June. I didn’t hear anything about changing the actual cars/seats though, all I had seen was a blog (maybe WDWNT?) mentioning that the lighting in the show building looked better than it had been before the refurb.

Location, Location, Location... Like most coasters where you sit in train is a huge factor in what the experience will be. There is a lot more whip action toward the back (especially the last one) and smoother toward the front. I can't see them changing the seats, but who knows, maybe they did. Since it is getting hard to get them to fix a lot of minor things, I doubt they would do that.

I expect most the refurb on the cars, had to do with the mechanical bits.... which could make for a smoother ride.

On a wood coaster, a major refurb of the track could make a huge change... but a steel one shouldn't see any changes. Still waiting on a major refurb for Space Mountain to smooth out it's whole experience... but talking about a major redesign and reconstruction... not a refurb.

The last few times I've been on RnRc, it seriously hurt my neck. Unless something drastic changed, I'm skipping that ride. I would say it's from my 65+ year old neck, but my 30 something daughters felt is was painful as well. I don't remember it being that way back in the day.

That was our experience the last few years, even when we have been near the front. This year was very different. No idea if we got a newer car or what was different, but that car was much smoother than previous years.

Yea. I think I’m done with it as well. I never been a crazy coaster fan and my 65+ body doesn’t appreciate the abuse. I do like EE. Guardians was a bit rough but part of it was not knowing what to expect

I'm going to take my 65+ body on it in 2 weeks. Am I crazy? we shall see.

I would like to see those bulky over the shoulder restraints gone. Coaster technology has evolved a lot in the last 24 years and now there are overhead lap bars (like Velocicoaster at Universal) that many rides with inversions use that would provide a more comfortable ride experience or at the minimum, vest restraints that would not have headbanging.
