This is a trip report for our recent trip in December of 2009. It will also be a pre-trip report to our next planned trip for June 2010. As you can see by the heading, I start off every trip with, "This will be our last trip here for 10 years. So you better enjoy it!!"

This June's trip will be a special one. We are taking my mother who had breast cancer last year. We figured if anyone deserved a trip to the Magic Kingdom, it was my mother. After the last year, she has been through a lot.
There will be many chapters to this report, so I am leaving room here to add a few.

I will post a few pic from our other trip too. We only seem to take pics we don't already have. So come along for the ride and I'll be back soon.

Ok, here is a small description of our new trip. I really need to start visiting the Dis from home... All of my pics are at home...

Ok, this will be the first time we are driving to Disney. We have always flown in the past. My mom WILL NOT fly. So guess who gets to do the bulk of the driving... That's right, me!!! Southern Indiana to Disney is a 13 hour drive non-stop. Of course with an eleven year old, a nine year old, and a 60 year old.... you know we are going to be making plenty of stops.

We will arrive on property sometime in the afternoon of June 6th. We are staying at Pop (first time here). We have requested connecting rooms to split with my Mom and Sister.

On this trip we will have with us:

Me: 33 year old Disney closet person
DW: 31 year old Disney lover
DS11: enjoying his 4th trip
DS9: also enjoying his 4th trip

My Mom: 60 year old cancer survivor (woohoo) never been to any Disney property
My Sister: 31 year old went once in college
Her Husband: Not really sure if he has ever been
Her DS4: It will be his first trip to see the Mouse

DW Mom & DW neice: They want to come and enjoy Disney too.

hhhhmmmmm......... not sure if I am going to survive this one.......

We were going to stay off site, but then we got free dining pins and decided to stay on-site. The convenience and pocketbook made this decision.

Soon I will be back to post our agenda for this trip.

Joining in, since we'll be there at the same time in June, and just barely missed each other in December. :thumbsup2

Thats funny because every time we go to WDW we say that everytime!:rotfl: Good for your mother! It takes a real trooper to battle cancer and survive. Im definitely tuning in!popcorn::

Ok, here it is...

Saturday I am going to try and get off work as early as possible. We will leave and drive as long as I can. I am figuring I can make it as far as Atlanta before I will need to stop and take a nap. It will be nice to be able to stop and sleep, then shower before we continue. As soon as we get to Disney, we will check in at Pop and run over to the Magic Kingdom. How else can someone visiting the Mouse for the first time start their visit? My wife and I were a little sad to see we will not be able to see Wishes when we get there. I guess we will get by....

With PM Extra Magic Hours we are hoping we can ride a few of our favorites Sunday. Monday looks like a DHS day. PM EMH will allow us to stay late, after sleeping in Monday morning. We usually run around like chickens without our heads... Since Mom is going and we need to take it slow, maybe I will finally get that vacation rest I need... ummmmm.... oh yeah, I forget, no rest for the weary.....

Tuesday looks like we will be going to see the big golf ball... as my boys like to call it. Especially after doing the Kimpossible Missions last year when one of the villains called it that...

Wednesday will be a great day to take Mom to see the Animals........ I really think she will like the Tree of Life and the Safari. When we were kids, she took us to the zoo whenever possible, now, it’s my turn.... Disney-style.....

Thursday, we are going to see the ocean. I have never seen the ocean, so we are going to Coco Beach. We are going to try and surprise the kids with a return trip to DisneyQuest. I am hoping to sell a few cars between now and then. If I have a good April and May, it will go a long way to enjoying this trip a little more.

Friday we will go back to DHS. I think Mom will like Fantasmic. Since it only seems to be offered a few days we are there, this works out as a perfect day to come back to a great park. We will try and get to the attractions we were unable to see Monday.

Saturday will be check-out day. It is always the saddest day of our trip for me. I will have to go back to work Monday and still have a long drive back. Somehow, I will have to tear myself away from the Mouse early enough so I can get home at a decent time. We may need to stop at another cheap motel so I can get some rest.

Well, there you have it. That is my plan. Not very organized, but I know what rides we will want to take Mom to see. I know she will want to do; CoP, GMR, TTA, Soaring, PotC, to name a few.....

Hopefully I can actually start that trip report soon. We had a great time in December and would love to share that with all of you. Until next time...
