Okay, we leave on Thursday morning, but wanted to give a pre-trip intro!

This was originally planned beginning November 2005 as a post-graduation trip (I just graduated with a BA in Management in Leadership) and a huge family vacation for our family (DH, DS12 and DD7).

Everything planned, Hoop de Doo, Luau, Candlelight Processional, Perfectly Princess Tea, and MVMCP (complete with ressie for Liberty Tree Tavern at 5:30), house rented, airline tickets purchased, car rental and kennel reservations made, and we were set. But Uncle Sam (specifically the Army National Guard) had other plans, and my DH was activated last month and is training to go to Afghanistan in late January.

After some great input from DIS members (as well as really great support -- thanks to all), I decided to take the kids anyway. But I did cancel everything but the MVMCP (Disney gave us a refund on DH's ticket) and my DD's Princess Tea, so that WHEN we go back (what a cool excuse) with DH, we'll have some things we haven't done yet.

I've made arrangements with the kids' teachers, and have done ALL of my Christmas shopping......Off from work tomorrow to do the pre-trip errands and clean house. My DH has December 22 to January 1 at home with us (we're returning December 23 -- I offered to return early, but he said, "I'm living in a bay with 30 guys right now.....it'll be great to have time to myself!").

We leave for the airport (about an hour and a half drive) on Thursday, December 14 (6:00 a.m. uggh), and as I was planning to make cab arrangements yesterday, I looked into getting a limo (the kids have always wanted to ride in a stretch limo!), and it was only $25 more, so I did it as a surprise for them -- I'm almost more psyched about the limo than I am the trip (ALMOST!)!

I may actually take a 1/2 day off today, mainly because my brain is already on vacation (the longest time off I've taken in 8 years) and I want to get a head start on stuff..... :dance3:
