We're Moving to Florida

I gave my notice today my last day will be July 17th. We can't wait to move.

I do have to put another word in for Seminole County. Esp. considering Volusia County is dealing with a $19million shortfall and some elementary schools will now be sharing a principal (in the Ormond area mostly)

Plus, Seminole is closer to Disney (as long as I-4 isn't backed up from a wreck...the 417 as an alternate is ok if you don't mind forking over $6-7 each way for tolls...blah. The new 429 is a bit better but it's further to the west.) But, can't really judge where to live based on proximity to Disney. Schools, homes, shopping, proximity to work, etc. should have a higher priority as that's what you'll deal with on a daily basis.

I'm glad I have but a 5-6 minute commute. Don't even have to drive on I-4 (just cross over it!)

One month to we move. We are wanting to live in Debary. I have been looking for a 3 bedroom house with a garage. DD is so excited.

My mom is now in Il. and is riding back to florida with us. My last day at work is the 17th (1 week) I have 2 different groups taking me out to lunch this week. We are 90% packed Our realtor has 17 house we can look at when we get there.

I haven't gotten any word on jobs from my friends that live in Deltona. Oh some day this will be us.

Thanks you guys. We are so excited since we are Disney Travel Agents we feel it would be better to be closer to Disney. I will need to work and I am hoping to find an admin. suppoert job.

I just happened upon this thread. There is a small possibility that we could move to Jacksonville. I'm not sure what to think. Any input?

My Dh is in the Navy we lived in the Jacksonville area for two yrs. We actually lived in Middleburg FL and loved it. We had a great house, we were close to the Navy Base and all kinds of shopping, restaurants, ect. We had a great time down there and if it weren't for the sticky summers we would probably have it on our places to retire to.

DH and I have been looking for good, full time (non contract) work since we moved here in 2004. Now 1 million+ are put of work here. We are moving on soon hopefully. I wish you luck in FL. It has not been kind to many we know. Sad because we liked being close to WDW. I am getting sick of the heat though too.
