We're moving to Celebration!

I've been a member of these boards for a long time now...always lurking but not too many posts. I just had to post and share my excitement! We are moving to the happiest place on earth! I fell in love with Disney's town of Celebration 12 years ago, and from the moment I laid eyes on it, it has been my goal to reside there permanently. With my son starting his sophomore year in college, my hubby and I are making the move! Going on house hunting trip April 2nd (of course we'll fit in the parks too!). Moving by end of May. I can hardly believe I'm going to be living in the magic! Thanks for letting me share!

I'll be excited with you! That must be such an awesome feeling. Can I come and live in your garage? I'm very quiet and extremely low maintenance.

We love Disney, and my daughter and I have always said how cool it must be to get to live in Celebration. Too many things hold us where we are, though. I have a secure teaching job here, her husband has a great job in Huntsville, my sons are here, etc. So, we'll just have to be satisfied with visiting as often as we can. With annual passes this year, we're getting six trips in, but that's not the norm.

Congratulations on your move. I hope it is everything you want it to be. You will have to come back and share pictures and stories with those of us who just have to dream about being there.

Df has been talking about doing this A LOT over the last couple of weeks! I'm all for it, now we just have to find jobs, find a house, and sell the house we have!!

Congrats! DH and I have a deal, if he ever gets laid off or his plant closes, we'll move and get jobs at WDW. He says he wants to drive the monorail or the ferry boat and I want to work with the costumes.

How exciting! I visit Celebration as a child and thought it was such an amazing place! I even wrote a report about it for a college urban planning classes. Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Thanks everyone for your kind words about our move! Leaving in 1 week for house hunting trip. I can hardly believe it. I just keep thinking about spending my first night in the new house in Celebration! Does life get any better?!! Thanks again...and for those of you who replied considering the move, I recommend reading this book..."Celebration, USA...Living in Disney's Brave New Town". Authors: Douglas Frantz & Catherine Collins. They are a family that moved to Celebration for the sole purpose of writing this book, and found once they were there, how much they loved it. Huge sense of community which is what I'm looking for after living behind walls in Arizona! Woo Hoo! Def. doing the happiest dance on earth!

Congratulations!!!!!! I know how excited you must feel!!! DH and I are planning to move down there next year to work for WDW and have been looking at apartments online to decide in what part we would like to reside. I would LOVE to live in Celebration, but I don't think we can afford it right off the bat.
