We have been to WDW 4 times in just 3 years and we have taken the kids on each trip. DH and I have decided to take our first adults only trip next month! :woohoo: My mother has agreed to watch the kids for us. Thanks mom! We have never both gone out of town and left the kids before. What should I leave my mom in case our kids have a medical problem? For instance, do we leave her something signed by us giving her temporary custody/authorization in case of an emergency? Does it need to be notarized? Is it something we can just type up ourselves?

Any other tips for parents leaving their kids for multiple days for the first time? If it makes a difference, our kids are 4 and 1.5 yrs old.

TIA

When we leave our kids with Mimi and PawPaw I write a letter stating the dates they will be in Grandparents care and that they have our permission to seek any medical treatment they think necessary. I also leave the insurance cards. When they were younger I'd send children's meds (motrin, cough syrup etc) along with each kid's dosage. I knew they wouldn't have these on hand.
Have a great time on your trip. We leave our kids at least once a year for 3-4 days. They look forward to it as much as we do.

Wow, have fun! I also went without DS last Sept. We didn't leave anything and now that you've brought this to my attention I'm sooo glad nothing happened. Now I'll know for next time.

Have fun! :)
