Hi everyone
Well that's our trip over, we got home very late on Wednesday night
We had a brilliant time and I'm happy to say I felt there were a few improvements in various areas since our trip last March.
Highs
So many...Hotel Cheyenne- absolutely loved this. The theming was great, cast members very friendly and helpful and Chuck Wagon was fine too. I had emailed the hotel to say this was a replacement trip for the one we had to cancel last month and we were offered early check in, the kids got to chose a free pin each from the hotel shop, our room was decorated with balloons, the kids had a box of pencils/colouring in stuff each and they had a welcome note signed by Mickey and Minnie. We were also given 2 days breakfast in the park vouchers (which I was going to ask about but didn't have to). We were just thrilled with this, such a nice gesture which I have emailed the resort to thank.
RS Transports - I think they get mixed reviews but we couldn't fault them. We used them last year and again they were prompt and had no problems. We were late in getting out of the airport due to our buggy being lost and I'd missed a few calls from them. When we got to the "greet area" I seen a driver with the sign showing the RS Transports sign who was waiting for another family. I showed him my emailed confirmation and explained we'd been delayed and he took us to the resort. (Actually thinking about this now, I presume there was another driver en route to collect the original family our driver was there to collect!!!)
Cast members - We found them to be more friendly and attentive this year. They went out their way to talk to the kids and we didn't come across any rude ones.
Characters - We seen lots of characters and the kids got lots of pictures and autographs. Yes, there were scrums at the unorganised meets but several were very good at picking out those who were waiting and deliberately not chosing the "pushers". They made everyone stand back so we could get a picture with just our kids and not half a dozen randoms!
Being a shareholder! - We loved Salon Mickey and felt quite important entering and leaving! Also loved the discounts!
Weather - lovely and warm although Tuesday was too hot.
The walk from the hotel to the parks - We have always got on the shuttle bus before but I was determined to try this on this trip. It was a lovely walk and we done this most days rather than the bus.
Plaza Gardens - We had breaksfast here twice and one evening meal and couldn't fault it. The food was lovely and again cast members just fine.
Lows
I'm struggling to think of any lows but if anything:
Crowds and heat on Tuesday, it was very very busy and very very hot!
Guests smoking - although didn't see this as much as last year.
Lack of sleep due to DS snoring, lol! For a wee boy, my goodness what a noise
I was a bit disappointed with Cafe Mickey this time. We ate there twice, the first time (6.15pm) the food was only ok but we found that some characters completely missed our section of the restaurant (upstairs). The second time (12.30), the food was fine and we found the characters stayed at our table for the bare minimum time and we were lucky to even get a photo.
I've read a few posts since we've been back about the toilets being filthy but luckily we didn't encounter this at either park (and with a 3 & 4 year old, we visited a lot!).
So a thoroughly enjoyable trip, we loved it, especially after the disappointment of having to cancel last month.
Time to start thinking about the next trip
