We left Sacramento around 740am and arrived in Anaheim around 200pm. We stopped twice. Once at In and Out and once for gas before the grapevine. DD was great on the way down, very little whining haha.

Got to Hojo's, had a quick, painless check in. Staff was not overly enthusiastic but nice. We are on the 6th floor with a Disney view, on the end. We dumped our stuff and immediately headed to Castaway Cove. DN and DD had a blast playing in the water. It was about 87 degrees here, warm and sunny. The room is nice sized, but I"m not sure the fridge is working properly which sucks because we brought refrigerated foods. Just took a shower and the water pressure is ok, but could have been better. So far, that's my only complaint. We came back up from playing in the water and got dressed.

Headed to DTD arounf 5pm...busy but not annoyingly busy. We were able to get our park hoppers and meal vouchers at the ticket booths for tomorrow. We bought through GAT and all they asked to see was my ID card. That was painless and the CM was very friendly. We went into World of Disney, man that store is amazing! I will be going back there before we leave! Walked around some more and ended up eating dinner at ESPNzone, only a 5 minute wait at 530pm. Service started out ok, but then our waiter got sidetracked when it started getting busier. I had a quesadilla, DD had chicken strips and kept dipping it in her caramel sauce for the apples (hey we're on vacation so what lol), DH had the buffalo chicken sandwhich and DN had a burger. The food was good, no complaints there. We walked around the shop a bit and headed out. I loved all the live music on the strip. House of Blues had a huge line and I wondered if someone good was in town or something. We had espresso from the book store DO NOT GET COFFEE THERE EVER, BLAH, terrible! We walked back to Hojo's. Nice little walk but no complaints from anyone. We're now waiting for the fireworks and drifting off to bed.

Does anyone know...we have PS for Minnie's at Plaza Inn at 940am, but DL doesn't open until 10am. One CM told me that they would let us in early, but I didn't understand where she was telling us to go. Any ideas? I figured I'll ask in the morning, but we want to make sure we get there in time to make it to Plaza Inn. How far from entrance to PI? Thanks all. More to come...

UPDATE***

Ok we got home last night around 8pm. Sorry my live trip report ended, my laptop just stopped working. I took crazy notes everyday so I can post a great trip report, so stay tuned for that soon!

Make sure you turn the fridge on. The maids turn them off between guests to conserve energy. If it still isn't functioning, call the front desk, they'll get it fixed or get you a new one.

Oh, and about the breakfast at PI. They should let guests onto Main Street early (around 9:30) for rope drop at 10:00 am at the end of Main Street. You will need to mention to a CM at the turnstiles that you have PS at Minnies at 9:40, and they will direct you how to get there ahead of rope drop crowds.

So, I noticed it was not on when I got here, so we turned the dial to the opposite direction of where it was. There is no arrow or anything to tell us which direction to turn it. Things are a little cold, like it's sort of working but I"m afraid to keep the milk in there. We brought a cooler, so we're just using that with ice for now. Thanks for the tips.

Glad most things are going smoothly!!

Doesn't Compass Bookstore sell Peet's coffee? I've always thought they were one of the few places to get a decent cup of java at DLR.

So, I"m not sure what they brew. Typically I like peet's. I just had a doppio espresso and it was luke warm and not tasty. boo. I'll try La Brea tomorrow maybe.

I hope that you and your family have a great time at Disneyland. :) And that your refrigerator will cooperate, otherwise, definitely tell reception that it is not, and it will be taken care of, I like to think, and within a timely manner at that.
Remember not to forget to ship me my chocolate caramel apple, from Marcelines Confectionery. He he! ;) :)

Glad you are having a first nice evening!

When we stayed at HoJo two weeks ago, I noticed the same thing with the fridge; it didn't seem cold enough. But it was just fine after a bit; I think it just needs to get going. By the next morning all our water, milk and juice was icy cold.

I noticed that about the water pressure, too. Kinda low. Other than that, we found our room very comfy.

Hope you have a fabulous time! :wizard:

Hey, you forgot to bring me!

Hope you have a great time!!!!

Since the park opens at 10, they will start letting people onto Main Street at 9:30. For Minnie breakfast I am pretty sure that you stay to the far right hand side of Main Street and there will be someone with a sign to meet you and escort you down to the Plaza. Have fun!

Hi Jenn:

Dangermouse is absolutely right about turning off the fridge between guests to conserve energy. There is supposed to be a tentcard explaining this in the fridge (sorry if it was missing from your room). Please contact the Front Desk Supervisor if it is not working properly in the morning, and we'll have maintenance fix it! I'll also check into the pressure issue; I've seen a few comments about this recently. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay, and please let us know if we can do anything to make your stay more enjoyable!

THanks everyone! I could not sleep last night. I think I'm just too anxious for today LOL. It definitely wasn't the beds, they are very comfy.

Mr. Whitehead: Thanks so much for being so attentive. I knew they were turned off between stays, even without the tent card but I guess Avalon was right, it just took a bit to get going. It seems much colder this morning than yesterday, so no worries!!

Chesiregirl: Thanks so much for the info about Minnies!! We can't wait.

More to come later, day #2!

WENDY- Where are you? I told you to meet us at Starbucks on Sunrise and White Rock haha.

We had espresso from the book store DO NOT GET COFFEE THERE EVER, BLAH, terrible!

I also am somewhat of a coffee snob :rolleyes1 and hated the coffee from Compass Book Store.

I did find that the nicer restauruants had "passable" coffee. Not great, but good enough. A couple years ago I was going into "detox" from lack of good strong caffeine!

I haven't tried LaBrea, let me know what you think.

Regardless, enjoy your trip!

I was there waiting. Didn't you see the girl with a pile of luggage and a pair of mouse ears? :rotfl:
