Were home...Here is our Report on EVERYTHING!!!

Sorry, I have no food porn today...lol. I just totally forgot about it.
Breakfast started off at the food court. We all ate very light. Just some fruit and Yogurt. I think DS had a bowl of cereal. Headed for a.m. EMH at DHS. First stop...TSMM. We jumped in line since the wait was only 20 minutes long...or so we thought. In real time it was twice that but oh well. Here are some pics...

We all loved the ride or should I say game. How bout the game you ride....that will work. Anyway, on my very fist ride I earn 3rd place on the board. I was loving it becasue I beat my husband...and I beat him BAD!!! lol :cool1: . Anyway, we jumped off and grabbed fast passes to come back later on.
We kicked it around the park for a while and we were all starving by 11 am and the kids wanted to go to Pizza Planet so we did. Honestly we had ate there before and DH and I didnt care for it but for a kid this place is ideal! Anyway, we all had salads, pizza, and dessert. Surprisingly, the pizza wasn't to bad at all...or I was that hungry one of the too. The sald really hit the spot. They were kinda small, but DD didn't want her's so I ate it and saved my dessert for later.
We ran around the park a lil more. Since it wasn't the weekend it wasn't to crowded at the Star Wars themed sttractions or displays.

After riding TSMM the second time (where I noticed my 3rd place had been bumped off...but I still beat my DH!!!) we headed out of the park for Epcot.
Dinner was at Coral Reef. We had a good waiter. Not the best, but still very good. The food was wonderful!!! The steak was cooked perfectly and the flavor was very good. I only wish they would add a common dessert to their menu. We have a teenage daughter that is sort of pickey...who am I kidding she is alot picky. Anyways, they desserts they have are a lil more "up scale" I guess and just to much for a picky teen or even a tween as kids as young as 10 are supposed to select off this menu as well.
Anyway, we had a very good, very relaxing, very nice meal! This was prob my favorite meal of the week...for the food anyway!

Great pics from Toy Story Mania!

I also liked the pizza at Pizza Planet, but not from Pizzafari. DBF told me they were the same but the Pizza Planet pizza tasted much better to me!

Dang...bigger then the ones that had in the carts? That thing must of been huge. We usually split one between two of us. God to know they still have them at the bakery. Were they they pre packaged ones or made there?

No they were made there. Two huge cookies with 2 big scoops of ice cream. YUM!! My DD and I split it and we still didnt finish it all.

I just got back from WDW yesterday and we had a Toll House ice cream cookie sandwich from the Main Street Bakery on Tuesday the 24th. I dont know about the carts but I was told the bakery on Main Street was where to get them. It was bigger than the things they sell at the carts anyway.

Yeah,:cool1: At least they still have them here. That's great. My youngest DD will be thrilled. She and I were so disappointed when we read they were gone. :woohoo: Guess where I'll be stopping as soon as we get to MK

Love all the pics and the update on the report. ::yes::

Well good to know they still have some version of them. Thanks for the info!!!
BTW: The carts still have the Mickey Ice cream sandwiches just not the toll house cookie kind.

Great pics from Toy Story Mania!
Thank you!!! We had fun taking them too. :3dglasses
Oh, and BTW, I didn't tell you all about Mr. Potato Head making fun of me...twice!
The first time it was because I had my sun glasses resting on my head. He told everyone to look...I was so famous that my hair even needed sunglasses. We all laughed.
The second time I was wearing a visor. He said hey lady...dont look now but some one took the top of your hat. Then he kept asking everyone if they seen who took the top of my hat. I guess I was an easy target! lol. Either that or I reminded him of some spud he knew.

I'm really enjoying your report so far! I am interested in hearing about your bad experience at H&V - on our last trip that was actually one of our favorite places to we have booked it again for our upcoming trip...you've scared me:scared1:
I wish that we would drive to WDW!!! This is what we did when I was a kid and so it just seems like the thing to do to me! Honestly, those crazy vacation drives are some of my best memories of childhood! I really don't like to fly and the plane tickets are just so terribly expensive. DH doesn't want to drive and since we will be returning with my MIL and SIL who definitely wouldn't drive, we are flying (I tried the "how about we drive and they fly" too and that didn't work either). We jumped all over the Southwest fares that just came out this week figuring that they probably would only be going up.

I can totally relate to your DD's teen-age pickiness - or should I say that my mom could relate...She said that on our last family vaca to WDW my brothers and I absolutely refused to eat anything!

Looking forward to more of you family's story and pictures!

We missed Mr. Potato Head because we only went through the Fast Pass line. I didn't realize he was so interactive. That's funny that you got picked on twice. Was it two different times?

Yes 2 totally different times. I felt Special! lol He sings, and dances (sort of), tells jokes, talks to people, etc.
During the week we fast passed it twice...one of those times the fast pass line was 40 minutes long...it was a crazy mess!!! And we also rode it through the regular line twice. We all had a blast and I enjoyed kicking my DH's Butt each time:woohoo: :yay: ! He still says I muct be cheating! lol.

I have 1 pet peeve I'll toss in though. Electric scooters. OK, if you need them, rent them and use them...I have no problem with that. But I think the company that rents them to you should require the renter to pass some sort of drivers test in order to leave the property with them. Especially if they plan on driving them onto a bus! lol...ok, I vented, I am done!

See - this is exactly why I am debating so much on whether to rent an off - site scooter (saving myself about $200) or renting at the parks and hoping they have some in stock when we get there. I am a nervous wreck about having to drive one of those things onto the bus. I know I will need one but I also know I will be nervous about doing it, and everyone at the bus stop stands and watches you (I'm not complaining about that - just observing - face it, there is only so much to do at the bus stop so watching the scooter get on the bus is about as much entertainment as there is going to be!) I told my husband what the price differences would be renting offsite or day by day at parks and all he said was "I'm not riding the bus with you" :sad2: We still haven't decided. Just when I convince myself to go ahead and rent one I read something (some of the disABILITIES threads) that change my mind again. :confused3

I really like your trip report. I think mostly because you are writing about the week that we would have been there if we had gone this year. :guilty:

Thanks for the info about tipping. I always leave a daily tip for mousekeeping. In fact, I like the idea that all the money is pulled together. Then I know that all involved are benefiting from it.

I've never done the Dining plan. It sure sounds like you had tons to eat. DD 2 is my picky eater, but she loves steak. Coral Reef sounds like the place for us.

I can't wait to hear more.

I honestly had no idea about the savings. But I have never looked into them either. If you do go with renting one from an outside source maybe you could tell them you are worried about this very thing and ask them to work with you briefly on this. There were several times it was an issue...but we only had 1 major time that this was a royal pain. There were 2 scooters getting on the bus. We were already on and seated so it must have been at the Movies resort. Anyway, we sat there what seemed like forever and this guy just could not get it right for nothing. I am sure he was getting worse at it the longer it took because he was getting upset. The bus driver was honestly kinda rude and appeared to be getting upset about it himself. Finally the guy got it with the aid of several people on the bus offering help. The second scooter operator was not much better but she gave up rather quickly and asked the bus driver to just park it for her and she got up and let the driver do it and she sat in the seat across the row. We ended up getting off the bus at DTD and walking to Westside to avoid waiting for them to unload off the bus.
Please no flames from anyone...like I said I am not saying not to rent them if you need them. I just think that the place that rents them be it Disney or not make sure the drivers know how to operate them properly.

We started the day off with AM EMH @ MK.
wdw2008068.jpg

Normally this is our favorite time to be at MK but this morning my DS8 decided he was going to really show his butt. After a few "If you dont staighten up I'm gonna take you to the restroom"...threats he seemed to straighten up some. We managed to see a sight we had never seen before...
wdw2008128.jpg

Sorry the picture is a lil blury. I took it with my cell phone and hard to get a get picture with the ride moving. It is Alice and the Mad Hatter on the tea cups. It was really neat and they really seem like they were having fun in the line and just being silly.
Now it is a lil late for us but off to Breakfast. We headed off to our 9:35 ressie at Crystal Palace. This is a must do for our family each trip we make to Disney. Granted there is nothing special about the buffet...but it was something we done on our first trip and is just something we feel we need to do each and every trip after that! The strawberries were sweet and HUGE! And of course I tore me up some of that breakfast lasanga.
wdw2008066.jpg

Pooh and the gang were all great...our waiter was just ok. He seemed as if he was too busy to be friendly...just done his job and nothing more.
This was a morning for kids to act up in every family I guess. Mine were back to behaving now but there were a couple of families seated close to us that made our meal complete with a show...lol. One lil one...I guess about 4 years old was hitting his mom and SCREAMING bloody murder (and I do mean screamed, not yelled...not fussed...SCREAMED ) for at least 15 minutes or so before the mother got up and went off with him. I was shocked that the mother sat there as long as she did. Another kid...I am guessing he was about 4-5 as well we up running around climbing on the table and in the huge flowered areas. His older sisters were trying to get him to set still and the parent's just sat there. lol....suddenly my DS's lil tantrum didn't seem so important!
After breakfast it was time to head off to the barber shop. Both DD and DS got hair cuts...

For lunch... we had ate so late for breakfast, and were going to eat an early dinner so we grabbed some fruit and I think my DS grabbed a muffin and we we completely happy with that!
For dinner we had ressies at House of Blues. We had been wanting to try it for years and just kept skipping it but decided this year we were making it happen. Well, I made our ressie's online and when I checked in they acted as if they were clueless. She asked if I made them online and as soon as I said yes she stopped looking at the list and seated us right away. I had been told by another Dis board member that they do not pay any attention to the online ressies. So since tis appeared to be the case here as well I would suggest calling if you are planning on going at busier times of the day. We were eating early so it wasn't an issue.
Anyway, The food was pretty good. No complaints about that at all.
We started off with the Voo Doo Shrimp. This had a odd taste and at first we weren't sure we liked it. Then as you can see by the picture we ate all of it...
wdw2008220.jpg

DH had a burger & fries...
wdw2008221.jpg

I had the Grilled chicken ceacer salad.
wdw2008223.jpg

DD had the pizza...she is gonna kill me when she see's this pic on here...lol
wdw2008225.jpg

DS had the kids hot dog and fries...
wdw2008224.jpg

OK, now about our waiter. Well lets just say this...:scared1: . He was CLUELESS. He brought us a entire meal extra that we didn't order. Wasn't even anything we had mentioned getting that he may have over heard or something. We'd ask for a refill or napkins or something and he would be gone forever and when he would come back he would have forgotten. When he finally brought the bill...we had to ask for it twice. It had the meal on there we didn't order. They had also added 2 drinks onto our bill that weren't ours...drinks at like $7-$8 each, and over charged us on my DS meal and drink. I brought this to his attention and he went to fix it. When he came back he just laid the new bill on the table and kept walking. I looked at it and he had taken the extra meal off and the 2 drinks. He didn't fix the bill on my DS's meal or drink. I even grabbed the menu to double check what it should of been. So I was upset by this point and I left cash in the folder. Just enough to cover the bill and an extra $5. I wrote a lil note on the bill that if he felt like he could finsih correcting the bill he could keep the rest. It would have gave him another nearly $4. On the way out I stopped at the front check in desk and the manager was there and I told him what I had done and we left. I would assume that had we had a good waiter this would have been a great place to eat.
Later that night we were all tired and hungry. I guess we knew better than to eat so early. We ended up having pizza and wings delivered up to the room. It cost a pretty penny but the wings were great, and I didn;t hafta get out of bed to get them...or eat them. lol!

See ya all soon with Day 5!

I love your kids hair!

And how cool to see the characters riding a ride. :thumbsup2

Were you at CP the same day as me? My DD was throwing a fit too! Well it seemed to be the theme of the trip for us. I dont know why:confused3 . I am not a spanking parent but I almost had to introduce my hand to her butt at the Princess Storybook breakfast.:headache: When my DH grabbed her up to take her out, she started SCREAMING at the topof her lungs!! I wanted to crawl UNDER the table.

Kids!!

I just think that the place that rents them be it Disney or not make sure the drivers know how to operate them properly.

One of the offsite place I looked at will only deliver directly to the user. Some of the others will leave it at the resort for you. But even with a (pardon the term) "crash course" on using it, once the bus pulls up, depending on the type of bus, the attitude of the driver, and the attitudes of the other guests - who knows how easy it will be to load :confused3

We rented a scooter through Buena Vista Scooter and they are located at the Boardwalk, where you can rent Surry Bikes. My wife needed the scooter and she had some trouble learning how to use it. I called them from AKL and within 30 minutes, they met us at the front door and gave us driving and parking lessons. They are awesome and it was great to have a company onsite. We went to the Boardwalk a couple times to chat with them about some minor things and to report damage that a bus driver caused by backing up the scooter on high speed and destroying a tail light!

After having a grumpy 8 yr old on day 4 I decided we were going to sleep in and let him decide when we woke up.
For Breakfast we didn't have anything planned so we went down to SURPRISE...the food court. lol. I didn't write down what everyone had...and I haven't pulled out the reciepts to try and figure it out.
We headed off to Epcot again. We enjoyed our day there until early afternoon. For Lunch we were in World Showcase and the kids were not wanting to try anything to over the top so we played it safe and went to Liberty Inn in America. The topping bar was nice for the burger and chicken sandwiches. Sorry no pics...major camera problems.
That afternoon we headed over to MK. We caught a parade...here are some pics from our cell phones...

I have plenty more pics of it but dont want to over do it...lol.
Next we had ressies for dinner at Liberty Tree. We were all hungry and ready for some comfort type foods and this really hit the spot. Ham, turkey, steak, mashed potatos, gravey, mac-n-cheese, stuffing, salad & rolls. Dont forget the apple cobler alamode. Our waiter was great and Goofy and friends were all there playing the part well!!!

After dinner DH & DS decided that they were going to go back to the room for a father son game time in the arcade & a dip in the pool. DD & I took this mother daughter time to catch a few rides then down came the rain. It lasted through a few rides and we made do then we headed over to catch the next parade....this one is my favorite though...

After Spectromagic we went over to grab a spot for Wishes...I must admit that after Hallowishes this past October, I felt a lil disappointed...but it was still a special mother daughter time!

wdw2008130.jpg

After Wishes we headed back to the room to join the guys and get ready for the next day!!!
