We're Here!

Sending You wishes for safe travel and that you make it home tonight to be in your bed when Santa comes:wizard:

We made it home! Our flight was around 2 hours late, but we made it, with 30 minutes at the grocery store on the way home to spare.

When we drove into our cul de sac, we were shocked! We have more than two feet of snow. We tried our driveway, which requires a sharp right turn and an uphill. It takes a running start on a good day! There was no way we'd make it. We get very little snow here; we are fairly close to the water, so this accumulation is highly unusual.

Then, out of nowhere, three families appeared with snow shovels. Our dear neighbors, whom we love like family, dug out our driveway so we could make it up the driveway. THAT is the true spirit of Christmas!

It's been snowing steadily since 6am. Sadly, we won't make it out to see family today, but we're snug at home. Missing the Grand a bit, but still happy to be home.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Glad you are home safe and sound! there are so many people stuck everywhere they don't want to be for Christmas!!
It's like that here too, we are also close to the water and this is just unreal! they said on the news tonight it was the first ever white Christmas across every part of Canada! :santa: There is a big warm up coming for the weekend, with lot's of rain, so it will all get washed away quickly, but it may cause flooding! We are supposed to be leaving on Tuesday, so I'm glad it's warming up, we are driving and I was getting very concerned!

Glad you made it home okay! This snow is just unreal! It is the most snow on record for portland ever in december and the most on christmas day in history for us. It was a blizzard again this morning but we took the kids out to play so it was fun. Glad your neighbors dug you out, or I guess dug you in lol Hope you had a Merry Christmas.

Flooding is the next big worry here. We live on a hill, but the valley below us floods on occasion. If that happens, school is cancelled. We already missed three days of school last week due to icy roads and snow.

I'm glad to be home, but missing the Magic a little right now...

It's been dumping snow all morning here again...how bout you? this is getting really rediculous.... they say on the weekend, Virginia will get up to about 76F
last week they were in the teens a 60 degree change in a week...
We've always been lucky enough to stay a long time and are almost always ready to be home again at the end. This one is going to be a quick trip, we'll only be there for 5 maybe 6 days... I will be coming home before I'm ready to I know it!!

I'm beginning to think I live in the Mid-West, rather than the Pacific Northwest! It is snowing...again, and has been snowing for around three hours. We need to go into town to get our dogs from the kennel (they haven't been home for 9 days and the entire family is missing them) and I'm not too thrilled to have to be on the roads!

I heard rain for this afternoon, and then the giant thaw...I don't see that happening!

Yeah, I've been snowed in for thirteen days. Tomorrow, though, I'll finally get out. Glad you made it home safely, the weather in the Pacific Northwest the past two weeks have been horrendous. I'm just glad the snow's melting.

-Jack

We have had about 15 inches of snow and driving has been a bit of a challenge. Yesterday 20 degree's,today 43 so far and the wind is abour 20 mph, so now the floods come.
