We're here! Probably not a trip report

welcome home, enjoyed all your TR's, thank you for taking time to do them. I was laughing out loud with your encounters with the 'tour groups':rolleyes2 we got them in June time and have never been at that time of year again due to them and other factors. Also got them to some extent in March last year. Never had them in Sept, Oct or Nov time.

Yes, I think that's our opinion too. We don't mind the heat but it was a little too hot, the crowds were unpredictable ( touringplans/lines app were mostly wrong we found) and of course the tour groups (going to stop using the B word)

I'm not booking for a while until we know what we're doing next year work wise but after being offsite villa type people I would have no qualms booking OKW again from now on (subject to getting the right discount of course)

Home now recovering, I'll fill in the last couple of days when I feel human again!

Thank you for your wonderful trip report it's really kept me entertained and smiling:) - there's nothing like the British dry sense of humour.
Glad to read you enjoyed OKW as a usual off site villa renter. We have always done the off site villa thing but next year are also taking the plunge with OKW so that's really reassured me. Did you have a 1 or 2 bed villa? We've booked the 1 bed with the intention of the kids sharing the bedroom (will be 7 & 9).
Thanks again Catherine

We got the 2 bed but did feel we could manage with the 1 bed. I'm not sure going down to a studio would work for us though being used to separate sleeping areas for the kids although to be honest more than ever this year, we all zonked asleep at the same time except me.

and finally

Day 14 Animal Kingdom Magic Kingdom and Epcot!
As mentioned previously our traditional last full day has always been MK but it's been sooo busy the last few days and Daisy specifically asked for Animal Kingdom to go on Primeval Whirl again we broke tradition. After a bit of a lie in we made it out for 11am and the park was busy but not too bad. There were only a couple of tour groups and I think things are cooling down on that front for anyone going soon so fingers crossed. We had a reservation at 1900 Park Fare for 6pm and experience has now taught us that we need an early lunch if we hope to eat again by then, generally a normal lunch would mean we only get hungry again at 8-9 pm and I like to eat normally!

With that in mind we head to Dino Land, pick up Primeval fastpasses and go for lunch in Restaurant o saurus or whatever it's called. Nice food, the kids don't eat much being more amused by the fact their lunch came in a bucket. Poppy tries to eat chips with the spade which kept us all laughing. She's a cheeky one that one.

2 Primeval Whirls later and a quick Tough to be a Bug and we call it quits as it is so very hot now, the last two days of the holiday were really roasting so we tended to do little bits then head off to cool down.

We call in at Target to get an extra suitcase for all the toys! We always travel with 3 cases with one being inside another on the way out. This year was a record with 2 on the way out and a total of 4 on the way home! And I didn't even buy anything really this year. Normally get a suite from Hugo Boss outlet or something but no, this was all toys! We are very bad for spoiling them but I think with the daily pocket money approach they actually got more things to keep rather than the rubbish they normally want that gets thrown on holiday like colour wonder and light up spinners etc.

We were going to have a swim but working backwards from the 6pm reservation we decide we want to park at Epcot and monorail to MK so that we can go back to Epcot for fireworks which we haven't seen yet. This means leaving for the meal quite early so no last swim. The kids are a bit miffed but soon forget when they find out where we're having dinner.

Even leaving so early we find it a struggle to get there on time due to mono rail stoppages and completely forgetting that the Epcot to MK mono rail deposits you in TTC and not outside MK. I had it in my head that we'd be closer but in reality it didn't matter as it's still two monorails. The stoppage wasn't ideal though as we all got pretty toasty for 30 mins while we waited for another train that had gone into maintenance mode apparently. The meal was lovely and after getting used to the buffet as it's our first ever we had a great time, the girls met Cinderella, the Stepsisters and Lady Tremaine and Prince Charming who looked 12 but charmed the girls up beautifully! Poppy wanted to be a princess when she grew up anyway but think they both do now.

We started the meal late and it took some time so we left at around 8pm to get the monorail back and I suddenly realise Epcot is having a 9pm night rather than 10pm and feel so foolish as MK was open until 2am if we'd stayed. Jo assures me it's for the best as we won't get overtired that way but I'm pretty miffed as I could feel work looming and wanted to prolong the holiday!

We have enough time for a quick Spaceship Earth which we finally get Poppy on, hurray and leg it round to France for a champagne each and fireworks. All in all a very nice night even if we did a lot of travelling and the only time we've visited 3 parks in one day (didn't actually go in MK but I'm counting it anyway)

Best do some work now so will do the last day after lunch.
