Hi Y'all, we're finally here in Plano. We closed escrow on our house in Canyon Country, Ca. last Friday and Tues. morning DS and I were on the road to Texas to look for our new home. We arrived Thursday evening and yesterday went out with the realtor I've been talking to for awhile. I have been looking at some homes in McKinney for awhile along with a couple towhnhomes. Things are a bit limited in my price range and in the nice areas. Well, I saw one house that I really liked and then we went to look at these model townhomes by Portrait Homes. First I want to say to people that are selling your home and using a lock box. Folks, please make sure you pick up your dirty undies off the floor before you leave for work. You never know who may be trapsing over them during the day and trust me, your cat is not going to pick up after you when you leave!
Ok, well, the townhome was brand spankin new and as cute and gorgeous as can be. My dream kitchen is to have granite counter tops (the black granite and just for the look) but that is out of my budget. But, this kitchen has the black granite look counter tops with black appliances and gorgeous cabinetry. When it comes down to it, as a single mom the upkeep on a house is more than I want to deal with and I got them to down $2000 on there price and throw in a fridge. We are closing by the end of the month so next week DS and I will drive back to Calif. and then head back here to Texas the beginning of August. Also, DS and I noticed one really neat thing about the complex and the exterior. I said to him, "do you notice something about this place?" and he said "Yeah, it reminds me of Celebration". We both love Celebration, FL and thought about moving there a few years ago but waited too long. This place really has that feeling. It's really neat. Anyway, we are really excited and nervous all the same. We have lived in the Los Angeles area all our lives so this is a really big move for us. DS dad lives in McKinney also and they seem to be starting to redkindle there relationship already which is a good thing. And, yes those of you that told me how friendly folks here are-are right. This is a nice place!!!!!!!

I'm out by the airport, an "eternity" from McKinney in Dallas traffic!

Welcome
