This is just a survey because I'm curious. I've had my share of highs and lows at WDW and admit that my last visit in July was my favorite because I could see the park alone for the first time. The second time I went, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought. Of course, the first was the best.

Considering what they had at the time and comparing it to things like the introduction of FP or a new attraction, what was your favorite year to visit? What attractions existed when you went and did the replacement attractions fail to meet your expectations?

Obviously, you can only answer this if you've been at least twice. I'd love to hear what you have to say.

I have been in May, June & Dec.

December for the weather, May for the crowds. I don't think I will ever do June again, unless it is my only option.

Fave year -- 1982. First visit -- I was six or so -- but also because Epcot had only been open for two months or so -- Xmas decorations were up -- and we had a MK view room in the CR tower.

We visited Discovery Island (the wildlife preserve that was once behind the CR)... we shopped in the LBV Village (now DTD)... watched "Magic Journeys" in 3D at Epcot... in MK there were the 20,000 league subs... Mr. Toad... the Skyway... and the TTA was STILL the WEDWay Peoplemover!

Unfortunately I don't have a scanner on hand at the moment so the best I could do was dig out this old picture and take a picture of the picture -- hence the cruddy quality! I'm on the left.

:rotfl: It makes it look like some Dateline investigation trying to hide our real identities :rotfl2:

I don't know why but each new trip tends to become my favorite. For now, I'd have to say my favorite year was in July 2005 when I went to WDW the first time with my DBF. I'm sure my next trip (Dec. 2006) with my DBF will become my new favorite year!

Hee hee - only having gone twice (and both in one year!), I really should have no say ... and even though we had a FAB time the 2nd visit, I know my FIRST view of that arch/welcome when you are driving to MK (and our resort) and the first time I saw the castle will always be the one thing that stands out in my mind FOREVER ... so FEB 2006 will always be THE YEAR! :thumbsup2

Since I have only been to WDW in 04 and 06- Both In SEP. My first will probably ALWAYS be my best because EVERYTHING was new. Plus the crowds were small thanks to my friends Frances and Ivan (ok I am in no way implying hurricanes are a good thing)

I discovered after my trip this year that I too am infected with the mousavirus and have to now delve into the deep underworld that is inhabited by the imagineers pirate: and it may take 100's of trips to see everything that I want to see.

The things that were new...Exe, soarin (had already been at DL).....LOVED EM

Stitch...huh? :badpc:

1.End of September
2.End of August
3.First week of January
4.Christmas Time

I used to love the week before Christmas and New Years' is didn't used to be as crowded(2001-2003) 2004 the crowds showed up and we changed our time of year. I love the end of September the beginnings of Food and Wine Festival and crowds are low. BF and I go the first week of January and we like that we still get the Christmas decorations with lower crowds.
This year we're trying the first week of March, I love sports, and ESPN the weekend is our first weekend.

Week after Thanksgiving, 2005. Best crowds, best weather for us, and had a great run of pin trading. I doubt we'll have a trip that enjoyable again.

My favorite would have to be my first trip. It was either '95, '96, or '97. (I don't remember- I was only 5.)

That cakey castle was my best friend.
I thought it was real.
:goodvibes:

In 1993/1994 EPCOT (still in all caps then!) did a promo for teachers. All teachers got in FREE if you showed your teaching certificate. That was my absolute favorite Disney promotion EVER!!! :thumbsup2

Fave trip(s) would be 12/04 and 12/05. Both years we combined WDW to DCL, and it was absolutely magical. One year we took my parents, the next we took my DSis and her DH. Nothing like the parks at Christmas. :cloud9:

DH and I love the parks and resorts during the Christmas season. Nothing beats sitting on a bench people-watching while listening to Christmas music.

We have been in April, May, June, August, September, October & November and going for the first time in January in 2007.

Each trip is very different. We have been going as a family since our oldest was just under 2 - he just turned 12 in November. Dd will be 8 in January. We have been fortunate to go 2x a year and sometimes 3.

We have been with toddlers, diaper bags, bottles, naps, tantrums, etc. Many trips at least one of us got sick. One time we had to call the dr. to the room since dh was so sick. Another time dd had the stomach bug and threw up all over the room. Another trip we had to go to the Celebration hospital since she had a double ear infection. And yet another trip we went to the walk-in clinic due to a tic on her head we had unknowingly brought from home.

Ds has aspergers so we have had to deal with his meltdowns and his picky eating. We deal with the kids fighting/arguing other the most ridicuous things.

I could go on and on. Yet we keep going back. It has gotten easier as the kids have gotten older. And since they are so familiar with the parks they are part of the planning of what we want - and don't want - to do and eat.

Dh & I went for the first time together back in 1992 and then again in 1993. Those trips were great because we could do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted. Ds was born in 1994 and dd in 1999. Bringing ds for the first time in 1996 and then dd in 2000 for her first time were both magical trips. I went for the very first time in 1976 when it was only the Magic Kingdom and a pack of tickets and you waited over an hour for a 2 minute ride.

A Disney World vacation works real well for our family - ds & dh both need routine and familiarity int heir surroundings. We will continue to vacation there until ....well, I really don't know until! :)

My favorite trips are when each of my children went to WDW for the first time.
DS # 1 1979
DS #2 1989
DD 1997
There is an 8 year age difference between my first two children and a 10 year difference between the last two.
DS #1 was 12 and thought he was too cool for DS #2's first trip.
DS #2 thought he was too cool for DD's first trip.
So each of my children's first trips were all about that particular child which was great.
This past Thanksgiving was another great trip because DD's nanny and her 4 yo son came with us. Seeing the parks through a child's eyes on their first trip makes WDW extra special, at least to me.
