Yeh! We're going to Saratoga Springs in September and are very excited! Just wanted to let everyone know. So, if you've stayed there already we'd like to know your thoughts on it. It looks really great. Are there any pros or cons? We're definately staying there but just want to hear some more about it from people who've stayed there. Any special requests we should make? We need a smoking room, that's the only special request we have right now.

Generally speaking, the fewer special requests you make the more likely you are to have your requests made. For my family I also make a smoking request (actually, non-smoking in our case), and I also specify non-handicapped so that we can get as much storage as possible. At BCV I ask for a "quiet" room, but that may not be an issue at SSR.

Just was there this weekend and the resort is nice. The pool is great. Try the slide it will surprise you at how much speed you pick up. Other then that have a great time. Let us know what you think of the food situation at the resort.

There are a lot of posts already - so you may want to go back a few pages and read the trip reports.

This was our first trip as DVC members, so we cant compare it to any other resorts, but the place was beautiful. Loved the room, pools and location. We went to DD almost every night, even just to walk around.

The food was good but limited. We liked Artists Palette, but I can understand some of the others not being thrilled. Everything we ate was good (especially breakfast), so I honestly have no complaints.

Enjoy!

room 2812 is a smoking studio with a fantastic location: top floor, view of pleasure island.

2632 is a smoking studio on the second floor, with a buggy balcony overlooking a bit of water with a parking lot on the far side. Its also wheelchair accessable.

Hey l_b, usually see you on the DB! ::grin::

We just got back from 6 nights there and we had a great time. Note that a 'water view' is nicer than the 'garden view' we had (overlooking a dead-end canal - but we did see lots of cool birds). But the whole place is great - we think that Disney did it up right!

Have a great trip!

Agreed that you should request the middle building of Congress Park with DD view. The middle building would be closest to the quiet pool and the bus stop. Sound is not an issue in any building -- thickest double pane glass you have ever seen! :-) We saw lovely birds and rabbits throughout, but they may have been there just for MH! ;)
