We're going to float away!!! Rain.......

Whenever I think of the weather in Las Vegas, I never think of snow. I always think of heat and air conditioners. he he!
That sounds wonderful to have snow there. Where I live in Ca. it normally does not snow. Once in a great while, there will be a dusting of snow on top of Sonoma Mountain. But that is it.

Pixie ---- I live in Sonoma County. My grandmother use to live in Fairfield, after having lived in SF, for many, many years. She several years ago, moved to the great beyond. A place that I do like to call Heaven (I am Catholic)

Sonoma cty, then yes, we are close! I thought so. :) There's a little campground in Sonoma cty that I just love...it's tiny and quiet. :)

:rotfl: OMG, there are so many things wrong with CSI! My DH and I love that show but it cracks us up because so much of what they show, you'd never find in Vegas. lol

Well, it gets really cold here in the winter. Down in the 30's at night, and our highs for the week are only in the 40's.
There was no snow on the Strip on Monday, but that has happened before as well. I live up near Summerlin which is closer to the mountains (about 20-25 minutes from the Strip) and we got between 2-4 inches depending on where in Summerlin you were at.

Oh I know that CSI is not very accurate at all, but it's my fave! LOL That's short of DBF and my running joke "but it's not like that on CSI" LOL :)
Your weather is like ours. It was 33 when I left this morning, frost everywhere. BUT we don't get snow, if it's raining out then it's not cold enough to freeze, it's weird. I've been here for (oh man, this makes me feel old) 20 years and it's snowed once since I've been here.

Well, time for a road trip!! Because it's snowing once again here. LOL

Actually many of the roads in have been closed so hopefully if anyone happens to be heading into or out of the area they are safe.

Ha- so sad, I didn't even notice it was snowing until you mentioned it- LMAO. Then I looked outside and said, "Hey! It IS snowing!" Is Boca Park near the Melting Pot, CheeseCake Factory and the Target Greatland? I think so... If so- yep, that's the one we go to when we go out to Kohls!

I hope it's less wet tomorrow! The weather channel says it will be mostly sunny...
I live about 12 miles from DL and I was planning to go tomorrow to treat myself to some Christmas gifts! Haha. I will go, rain, sleet, sunshine... I just want to get out of the house!

Yep, that's Boca Park. I am always in that Target since it's like 5 minutes down the hill from me. I live halfway between that, and the Red Rock casino. Being that close to a Target and Cheesecake Factory is so bad for my wallet and waistline!!!! :scared1: :rolleyes1
Do you live in that area as well?

Aww, see, now I think snow would be fun!

It's raining pretty hard down here (still? again?) and ugh, hate going out and everything getting wet!!! Boo rain.

Have you looked at the HoJo webcam today? :scared1: but then if you live that close there is not need is there?? lol... what a wicked day there today! We have a good 6 inches of snow here right now, which is about as rare for us as a day like today is there for you! if you get my meaning.... :thumbsup2

Haha yeah the weather at my house is the same as DL usually.
I had to brave the downpour to get to an ATM earlier for my visit tomorrow!

I'll be doing the sunshine dance all night. :rotfl:

But good to know that HoJo has a webcam! That is nifty!

Be safe!! Snow.......I don't miss it that much. LOL

You've never lived in the snow have you? :rotfl: I have, before I moved to CA I lived in the mountains of Oregon....gorgeous but cold and snowy........I can honestly say I don't miss it that much. And when I start to miss we drive up to the mountains and then I remember why I didn't miss it before. LOL

Thank you Pixie for the advice. I was figuring on doing something like that. I was hoping on just being able to re-attach the little guy, but I do not think that is an option. Oh well.

Just a heads up, the Parks were hard closed (no extra hour on Main Street) early today. Disneyland Park will close at 9 PM (scheduled for 11 PM) and DCA closed at 6 PM (scheduled for 8 PM).

If this weather keeps up into tomorrow, I would expect the same thing to happen. It was just terrible today.

Truthfully I would rather take the rain than the four feet of snow and the -40 with wind chill weather we're having here! :cool1: Gotta love Alberta!

Brrrrrr...... I can't imagine living somewhere that cold. :scared1: We were in NY in February several years ago and I'm not sure what the temperature was but it was SO cold (said the girl from California). I'm sure it wasn't nearly as cold as the weather you're having now so I can't even fathom that kind of cold. It's actually snowing right now at my house but it's just in the low 30s so nothing too extreme.

Schools have been canceled for tomorrow here in Vegas. They said on the news all flights were canceled at McCarran. It's quite the mess. And today the snow was more wide spread to other parts of the Vegas valley.

Actually after being in northern Michigan for 3 winters, it cracks me up! You'd think it was a blizzard. :lmao:

It's supposed to stop raining tonight, so hopefully things will be better at the parks tomorrow. The weather is supposed to clear up this weekend, but then rain again next week.

I don't really remember a rainy Christmas, although we usually get it the 2nd week of December.

My daughter has been at Disneyland this week and she said that today there were so few people, they got to stay on the rides and go again on almost all of them. I guess that's a plus worth being there in the rain for!

We're getting a lot of rain here, too...but no snow. We're just a touch north of Phoenix.
At least it makes it seem a little more like Christmas....

.

I'm glad to hear that. My friends who live in Claremont, CA called me yesterday morning as they were on their way to DLR for a Disneyland forecast. :lmao: I asked them "is it raining hard?" They said "yes". I said, "You'll have a crowd-free day."

Glad to hear I was right. ;) But now I'm sad I didn't get to go. :sad1:

It stopped raining and it's sunny! No clouds over here.

It's still pretty dang cold though. Brrr.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: NEGATIVE 40 - I don't think I'd survive!! I would be stuck in my house all day - not able to go and get the mail, etc. And my poor puppy would not want to walk in that. I don't know how we'd get our exercise. I'll stop complaining about our single digit/teen wind chills now - lesson learned. :rolleyes1
