The Santa Ana's have returned this morning with a vengeance. Wind at 20-30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph (almost got blown off the interstate this morning). This is what they are calling mild-moderate Santa Ana's.

Looks like they are anticipating this weather pattern through Thursday. Here's hoping the weather man gets it right and the weekend will calm down. My daughter's B-day celebration is this weekend and we are really looking forward to the fireworks.

gosh, i really hope the winds calm down! i really wanna see the new fireworks show!!!!!

When you drive from LGB are you taking surface streets or freeway? We took surface streets and drove straight "up" Katella (I think). There are gas stations (for going to the airport) and we stopped at Ralph's (I'm pretty sure that's the name) to pick up some groceries. There were about 3 of them on that road as we were headed to DLR. It was a very clean, bright store and I was able to find what I needed. There is also a Food for Less somewhere nearby, since you will have a car.

Maybe someone will chime in about grocery store location that remembers better than I do.
