We're going to Cape May tonight...tell me a little about it.

We booked it on a whim when we went to Beaches and Cream a few weeks ago and the place smelled heavenly when we walked through (I loves me some seafood). Is it really worth the price? Any favorite foods of yours? What's this "Oreo Bon Bon" I've read about?

Thanks :)

I love Cape May and we usually book that our last night.:sad1:

The best part is the all you can eat clams. I adore them, since I always associate them with family events such at Fourth of July, First Holy Communions etc.

The worst part is the the desserts. I find them to be of lesser quality then that of other buffet's but it might be that there are not as many guest who get that far.

The other issue I see with the buffet is it is a square without a defined begining and end. I can't even tell you what the "rules" are since I'm sure my multiple trips to the shellfish side only offended those who waited patiently around the corner in the salad side and were not happy with me. The flip side to that, I get annoyed waiting in line for just the clams to have someone step up in front of me just "ducking" in for clams. But it is NOT a problem just be aware of everyone looking :confused3

You'll have a great dinner!!! Go and enjoy!!

WE love the Cape May Cafe we try to go there on every trip. It is an awesome buffet that will suit almost everyones needs. They have seafood, to pasta, to chicken to mac and cheese! It is really good food! And the oreo dessert is my favorite there! Def. a great choice for dinner or lunch!

Anyone have any comments about CM Cafe for Breakfast? I have this booked on the last day of our trip before we leave for the airport, and DH wants to cancel and go to Chef Mickey (we 've been there before). I 'd like to try something new, but it will take more travel time and thus more time out of our short last day. We are staying at the Poly and have to leave for the Airport around 4pm.
Any suggestions appreciated. :tink:

::yes:: ::yes:: Cape May has fabulous food!

We have never done CM for breakfast, but if you are staying at the Poly what about going to Crystal Palace for breakfast, that way you get two birds with one stone. You have a great breakfast and you are already in MK for your last day! Hope this helps!

:offtopic:I know this is off topic, but I LOVE your quote next to your name, 525,600 minutes.... great play!

I ate there 2 weeks ago for dinner and was very pleased with the food. I bypassed the clams went for the cold peel and eat shrimp. They had a good salad bar with crisp, fresh salads. I also ate prime rib that was very good. Their ribs were fantastic, the meat fell off the bone. The green beans and squash mix was very tasteful. I never got a piece of corn on the cob, so I can't comment. I also did not try the chicken.
I only tried 2 desserts. The key lime tart was just ok. I had much better key lime pie at Old Key West counter service.

Thank you...that was the song that I walked down the aisle to at my wedding :)

Well, we ate there tonight and it was TOO GOOD. I've been on a diet lately and I'm gonna have to double time it at the gym tonight. Even the kid's corn dog nuggets were delish. And that mini cheesecake...ohhhhh!!! :)

I like breakfast and dinner at Cape May. Char breakfast buffets are pretty much the same around the World, with a few unique items at each one. I think it depends more on the characters you want to see.

We eat at Cape May each morning on our last day. We need to say good bye to the characters before we go and there's not usually enough time to go to a park that morning.

We have eaten there on many visits and was sad to see that the hot steamed shrimp was gone when we were there last week. The shrimp is now on the salad bar as cold peel and eat. I loved the hot steamed shrimp at Cape May because it was the only place that still carried it. We will not be visiting as often now and have removed it from my ADRs for August and October. While the food was good, the selection for myself are pretty slim, especially when your favorite item is gone.
