DH and I are planning to do another cross-country RV trip next year to FW (and other destinations). YAY!!!

Our son would like to join us, but obviously as a young working man he can't take off the whole 45 days of our trip. How can we work this? Obviously we'll list him as a guest on our reservation for ticket and MB purposes, but how will it work for airfare and transport? Will we be able to book only one plane ticket as part our package, which would technically be for three people (two driving, one flying) or will he have to book his airfare 'outside' of Disney's reservation system? Can he still use the Magical Express?

Another question; if you book campsite and tickets separately (I may be able to get a good discount on tickets) do you still get the 60 day window or is that for Disney packages only?

we just did this in October, I drove the camper down and the kids flow down a few days later. they flow south west its easier if the carrier belongs to magical express that way Disney will take care of the luggage After they made the airplane reservations all I had to do is call Disney and link their flight to my reservation. They were able to ride the bus to an from the airport. bus stop for magical express is at fort registration hope this helps Sambuster

Thanks! He shouldn't have any checked baggage as we figured we'd take a jacket, toiletries and any heavy clothing with us and all he'd need to fly with should fit in a backpack.

Were your kids able to use the 60 day FP+ booking window?

I would book the plane ticket directly with whatever airline you would use. It's usually cheaper than to buy your airfare through your disney package. The 60 day fastpass window is for all onsite guests whether you have a room only or a package. Or campsite in your case. Every person on the reservation with valid tickets linked to your disney account can get their fp booked at 60 days out. It doesn't matter if the tickets are part of a disney package or purchased separately.

Yes he can ride the magical express. It is no problem to arrange it for just one person on the reservation. Make sure you have his flight information when you call.

We did similar last Ft Wilderness trip. DS joined us for a few days. We had Annual passes and bought him a 3 day pass before the 60 day FP window. We added him to reservations. He arrived on ME, but we took him back to airport.

Thanks, everyone! That's exactly what I needed to know. Now I just have to find the patience to wait until 2018!!

This is the hard part. It seems like the closer it gets the harder it gets too. We are going again in just under 7 weeks. I think my dd12 is going to explode (with anticipation and excitement) before then. :D
