Well,

After going back and forth forever we are doing the silver plan at AKL in October for 10 nights in a 1br suite.

If there is DH, me, DS6 and DD4 and we each get 2 wishes per day does that mean that we will have 80 wishes????

It seems like we would break even for what the package is costing us and what we would pay seperately.

I'd love to hear from people who have done the silver plan. The good and the bad.

I actually called WDTC to book the package and they transferred me to CRO to make the reservation. Shouldn't it be the other way around.

I also spoke with the nicest CM while making the reservation. Her name was Kathleen and she answered every question and suggested a lot of things and even laughed a little. :D

Thanks in advance for any info.

Yes you would have 80 wishes to pool from. I have heard that one of the best ways to get your money's worth is to eat at the more expensive restaurants and if your kids aren't very hungry just get the kids meal and save the wish for another adult meal. I don't beleive they have changed the pooling rule so you may be able to end up even more ahead of the game money wise if your kids only want a $5 or $6 kids meal. Also make sure that you order as much as you are permitted if you use your wishes at meals - ie appetizer, soup or salad, entree, dessert, hot and cold beverage. I think that may be what you get at dinner.

All the WDTC and CRO stuff is so confusing. I'm just glad I got a travel agent this time so I don't have to worry about anything.

I'm glad you got your reservation. I don't think you'll regret going with the silver plan.

You will LOVE the silver plan!! We had it last year and plan on doing it again. The one thing I really loved about it (and did not know prior) was that they are all combined. DH didn't use a few of his because he was at the PGA tour a few days so I used his "extra" wishes to get a few more spa treatments :p

Here is the best list I have found on the Silver Plan to date:

Hope this helps!!

The Silver Plan. Did you regret it or love it?

I'd love to hear the details.

I used it last time at Wilderness Lodge and it is the package that I booked for my trip this year.

The best way to get your monies worth is sit-down meals in resorts (the best food), order all the courses that come with it and price is not an option. You can also have spa treatments, character breakfasts, trinkets, hoop-de-doo or Cirque du Soleil! The only thing that is not included is booze any additional tips over 15% and Albert & Victorias, A&V Chefs Table & Citricos Chefs Table.

I'm assuming you have a fridge with your room. If so, dinner leftovers can be kept from breakfast the next day. Aside from the stray mickey bar, you don't have to pay for food during your trip.

Enjoy and remember calories don't count at the Mouse! ;)

Can you do the silver plan with shades of green ???? and on avarage how much dose the plan cost ?

thanks for all the help .

We absolutely LOVED the package. I don't think we will go any other way from now on. I couldn't tell you if we "broke even" but I can tell you that the convenience is well worth it!! Plus I found that we would do things we normally would not like playing golf, getting spa treatments, cirque tickets, etc. This is the best list of "wishes" I have found so far:

We were there last week and used the Silver Plan again - our 3rd time. It is the only way to go if you want to sample things and try expensive restaurants you might not otherwise try. If we don't use all our points we always cash them in for either t-shirts at DTD or souvenirs in the gift shop, or Mommy gets a spa treatment. I often get a dessert or salad to go and then we enjoy it back in the room for a snack or breakfast(ds loves cheesecake for breakfast).

We love the plan and I think we always come out a little ahead - like at Fulton's when ds had $45 crab, plus an appetizer, plus dessert!

Enjoy!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hi vbfamily!

We used the silver plan last Oct. and here are some of the experiences we had with it.

Firstly, technically your kids have child's wishes, which are different monetarily wise than yours and Dh's, and therefore they will have to order off the child's menu at some restaurants, giving them a entree and child's dessert, or a complete childs buffet.

BUT, what you need to do each and every time you sit down at a restaurant is to tell your server that you are on the Silver plan BEFORE you order. That way, the server can tell you the policy at that particular restaurant. Some restaurants pay no attention to a child's wish vs. an adult wish and will let the kids order off the adult menu.

Whichever meals you decide to use your wishes on, you and DH will always get :
Breakfast: Full entree & Drink, or complete buffet and drink.
Lunch:Appetizer,Salad, Entree,dessert & drink or complete buffet
Dinner:Appetizer,Salad,Entree,dessert &drink or complete buffet
Also-don't forget that gratuity is included.

The only restaurants that we visited that made our kids order from the kids menu were SCI-FI, and Maya Grille and Garden Grill.
All the others we visited:
'Ohana,Chef Mickey's,Teppanyaki,Cinderella's Castle,Rain Forest Cafe,and BreakfastaSaurus..........let the kids order like adults.

We had a blast with the plan, and ate soooooo much food! My DH said he will not do Disney any other way;-)

We used our wishes for lunch and dinner each day because I didn't think we would be getting our money's worth out of the plan by eating breakfast.I packed a few boxes of poptarts and cereal bars and we ate those before we left in the mornings for the parks. That worked out perfect since I had scheduled early lunches (around 11am) and later dinners (about 6-7pm).

One other tip---some of the higher priced restaurants require TWO wishes per person per meal. The ones that come to mind are Fulton's and Coral Reef.So do your research homework before you leave.........there are some excellent restaurant reviews here on the Dis, and also at http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/dining.asp
and
at http://www.wdwig.com.

Lastly, HAVE FUN !!!

Thanks everyone.

Janet2k, Thanks. I'm also glad we finally decided.

I know we could do it cheaper other ways but this seems pretty worry free.

I did put in a request for a quote on the DU website.

Thanks again.

Vbfamily, that is wonderful news. I like to give my business to the companies that help me the most -- the Dis website is where I gather a major portion of my WDW vacation info, and thus I began using them for my vacation reservations. I also use their sponsors, too, since they in turn support the Dis.
