We're Celebrating our Marriage with a trip to Disney World! Itinerary final touches

Day 5: Free Day

This day I have made breakfast reservations for Chef Mickey's at 10:50am. I tried to make it as late as possible so that we can sleep in a little again. I hope that we still get our share of characters being almost the end of breakfast.

The rest of the day we plan to tour a couple of the resorts and DTD. I mainly just want to see the Boardwalk area. Most of my other top resorts to see, I've made reservations at except for AKL.

I am debating upgrading our tickets to add on a day in case we want to go into a park this day, but I kind of want to keep it as relaxing as we can. Maybe take a swim at some point if there's time.

We want to try maybe Earl of Sandwich in DTD too. We loved it in Vegas, so we are going to try to make it a goal to go here for a dinner or something.

That is basically it for this day.

One thing I'd like to find out is what is considered a snack on the Dining Plan. I know ice cream bars are one, but not sure what others would count. I am guessing the corn dog nuggets I want to try at Casey's Corner in MK are a CS meal and not a snack?

Day 6: Animal Kingdom. Park Hours - 9:00am-8:00pm

When I was originally making this schedule, this park said it was closed at 6:00pm, so I made a dinner reservation at the Grand Floridian Cafe for 6:20pm.

I think we will still be able to do most of what we want to do. We also have a breakfast reservation at Tusker House for 10:05am. I am looking forward to all these character breakfasts! :goodvibes

Things we want to do at AK:

-Expedition Everest
-Kilimanjaro Safari
-Dinosaur
-Festival of The Lion King
-Kali River Rapids (depending on the weather)

I think that's about it. Definitely will take a stop at the Tree of Life. Hopefully we can get most of that in our time frame.

Magic Kingdom is open until 1:00am this night, so I think we will head over there after dinner at GF, since it is so close and I will want more time there. I know it might be pretty busy, but even walking through Mainstreet will make me happy. Are all the shops open that late too? Even if we don't get to MK until 8pm, that's still 5 hours until park closing. We should be able to get a few things in.

Yeah, I am getting worried that we won't have time to do half of it. I see all the people planning 10 day to 2 week long trips and it starts me panicking a bit.

No need to get worried -- you won't have time to do half of everything there is to do! :rotfl2:

Seriously, there is so much in the theme parks and so much outside of the theme parks, that you just can't do it all.

I'm on Trip #35+ and haven't seen and done it all! That's what makes WDW so exciting -- there are still new restaurants, shows, activities, rides, shops, tours, etc to see and do!

My advice -- don't upgrade. Honestly there is so much to see and do outside of the parks that you really don't need to go in the parks every day...and it's also nice to get a mental break from the crowds, hustle, bustle, gotta be here, gotta be there.

DH and I planned a whole long weekend and never went into the parks! And it was a great and fun and relaxing vacation. Nowadays we try to go to WDW for a week and have at least 1 non-park day, if not two.

As for snacks, do a google or Disboards search. There are a ton of snacks that you can use for your credits. And at WDW, they will have a little purple sign next to the price, if it is included in the DDP snack credit.

Even if we don't get to MK until 8pm, that's still 5 hours until park closing. We should be able to get a few things in.

It's Tough to Be a Bug is a very cute, 4-D show. It's usually a walk-in. I would see it if you have time, which you should. Remember to sit up straight and back in your chair!;):rotfl:

We love, love, love the Finding Nemo the Musical show. It is like a broadway production, it is so good. I highly recommend adding that to your list. They use humans and larger than life puppets (the seagull is like 20 ft tall!) This show does fill up quickly. Try to get a seat in the front section if you want to be immersed in the show. Go more toward the middle/back if you want a more 'overall' perspective of the show.

Primeval Whirl is also another just fun mini-coaster ride. It's based on the old "Mouse Trap" coasters of the past.

Also, taking some time to wander the trails (gorillas, tigers, birds, etc) is a nice respite from the regular theme park.

If you like BBQ, Flame Tree BBQ is a great place to eat. We love their choc mousse and key lime mousse, too. Only place we always get dessert at a CS. If you eat here, get an outside seat all the way down the hill by the water, overlooking Expedition Everest, or sit by the lily pond in the middle section. It's just so peaceful here since most people just grab a seat at the top section and don't even know about the secret seats all the way at the bottom.

I kind of figured as much. I think we will end up taking our time through most of it anyways, so that it still feels like somewhat of a vacation!

That's a good idea. I think Dillon would appreciate more of a relaxing atmosphere for a day.

Thanks! I will do some searching to see that I can find.

I will note all these down! The trails sound like fun and Nemo sounds like a good show to see. If it's anything like the Aladdin show in DLR, I think we would love it. :)

Thanks again for all the tips! :goodvibes

no problem!! You guys are going to have such a great time!

My best advice is to find the balance for you between just taking your time and seeing as much as possible. :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Yeah that should be interesting!! Haha.

5 more days!!! Even though my ticker is deceiving me and saying 4.

You will be fine :goodvibes

Okay... here is my tattoo... used my iPhone to get a pic.. not the best... lol.

I would just leave it alone, enjoy exploring any resorts and DTD and swim if you like.

Some examples of snacks...Milk, bottle of soda or water, popcorn, ice cream bars, apple, banana, et al. Check out all ears when you get a moment

I second trying Its tough to be a bug, which is located in that big tree of life you will see when you get there :thumbsup2

I think most of the shops remain open.

BTW...forgot to quote your tattoo, that is really pretty

That is pretty:)

I'm planning a 2 week trip!! Its during the F&W festival and I feel like I need that long to do the events I want to do! Now of course I am reconsidering the whole trip from a budget standpoint but we will see!

Thanks on the liking the tattoo!

I would love to do 2 weeks. I think that would be just about perfect, esp if you have an AP so can just go in and out the parks as you wish ... and of course if you have the $$ to do some extra things like boat rides, tours, special dining, dinner shows, Cirque du Soleil, etc.

I will definitely see about getting into ITTBAB. I have a bit of a phobia with bugs though, so we will see if I can do it. At least they are fake right? Unlike the butterfly hut in Epcot. Eek!

I think when you have a festival like that in there, more days are for sure needed.

There is no such thing as too long at Disney!

I would love to see and do other things like the boat rides, etc. I had never seen a Cirque show until just this last November when the Michael Jackson one was touring near here. If that one was there, I'd be making time just for that. In fact, I am considering a Vegas trip just to see it once it gets there. It was amazing.

3 and a half days to go!!:yay::dance3::woohoo:

Right now I am doing the laundry so we can pack the rest of the clothes we will need.

Tomorrow I am going to run a few errands. Fill up the car with gas, grab some things Seth will need while my mom is looking after him, etc.

Tomorrow night we are going bowling with some of Dillon's family. Haven't bowled in a while, but should be fun!

Saturday we are going to dinner and a movie with a friend and her new boyfriend.

And Sunday will be a day completely dedicated to spending time with Seth. It's going to be hard to leave the little guy. The fact that it's Disney World helps a little, but still. I am going to get my mom to email me a photo every day since lining up video chat might be a little hard.

Yay, we are so, so close! This weekend will go by fast I am sure. Dillon is excited he only has one more day left of work.

So I was just talking to Dillon about our first day in MK. He hasn't let me talk about much of anything with him because he wants everything to be a surprise.

Well I had to ask him what time he is ok with getting up in the morning to make it to MK, and he said 6:00am cause he wants to be one of the first at the gates for rope drop!! :scared1::woohoo:

I was afraid he was going to say 11am. I don't think we need to be there THAT early, but I am glad he is on board with what I want to do! :goodvibes

Glad to hear that!

There is a morning show at MK about 10 minutes prior to opening. It is cute with lots of characters. However, you can't be one of the first ones into MK and SEE the show b/c where the folks line up at the turnstiles is actually underneath where the show/train are.

Not a biggie, but just wanted to let you know. You'll still be in the front of the pack if you choose to see the show (which I recommend), but there will be people in front of you, too.

Thank you for that tip! I do want to see the show. So try to let some people go ahead first so we can see the show! Here I thought we were going to have to be first to get a good spot for the show.

We are just three more sleeps away!!! Probably more like 3 half sleeps for me though, I am getting so excited that I have the butterflies. My tummy likes to do all sorts of weird things to me when I am really excited for something. :confused3

Tonight we are charging up all the cameras, etc. All of our clothes are packed. I picked up a couple toiletries at walmart: body wash, a luffa (bath poof or whatever they are called and some lotion. I think everything is purchased now. Tomorrow we are going to the bank to change some more money to US funds, and then I need to fill up my car. I hope that's it for money, as I want to save as much as I can for Disney!!

Oh yeah, and tomorrow I am getting my nails done. I guess that's a bit more money, but they need it bad! I am going to see if they will do a Mickey design or something Disney related.

I am going to try and do some updates while down there. I will have to get used to Dillon's blackberry again, as my phone doesn't like to work in the US. That's ok, it would cost me too much anyways.

And now I am rambling because for the life of me, I cannot remember what I came on here to say in the first place. Oh well, if it was important, I am sure I will be back to post again real soon! :headache:

Well a few extra days is good then since you are doing the festival :goodvibes

I did it and was so ready to come home by 10 :rotfl2:

awesome, glad you and him are no same page :woohoo:

I found you! :) How on earth did I miss that you had a pretrippy going??? :confused3

I will go back and read but wanted to say have a magical trip since your leaving so soon!! That's awesome that Dillon wants to get up bright and early to hit the parks :thumbsup2 In our opinion that's the ONLY way to do it :goodvibes Glad to hear you'll try to update too  Then I can live vicariously through you while I wait for my trip.

I'll be back to comment on more once I've gotten some time to read it all but i've missed alot so it might take me a few days. LOL.

Welcome Kim! Glad to have you aboard!

My link is a little tiny, so that's probably one reason why you didn't see it. :goodvibes

No rush. There is a bunch of chitter chatter to skip through as well, as we are talkers sometimes. Once I start my TR, I hope to add some links to the front page.
