So with the menu changes Le Cellier holds no appeal for us anymore. We're cancelling our July ressie...now we need a replacement. Which would you choose? FWIW, our group will be 3 kids ages 4-7, DH who is picky and likes "mainstream" foods, and me, who will try more or less anything! :yay:

We are on the DxDDP and would like to use only 1 TS credit. Epcot restaurants only.

We did Le Cellier and Coral Reef last week. I had new york strip at Le Cellier with mash potato. My husband had filet.
I had steak at Coral Reef also, husband mahi mahi.
My steak was better at Coral Reef. Our waiter was better at Le Cellier.
I felt very rushed at Coral Reef. During 9 TS meals that trip, Coral Reef was only one that required that I show them my card prior to ordering to prove which DDP I was on. And he never looked at us. He just stared straight ahead as if he was reading from a teleprompter.
He also took our dessert order at same time as our entree order.
Food was better here but really turned off by the waiter.

We are trying the new Italian place Tutto in a couple of weeks but it may be closed when you are there
Teppan Edo is also good

I would go over to BC - an easy walk from Epcot - and eat at The Flying Fish - the best food in the Epcot area I think

I think we had that same waiter in Sept. :lmao:

Flying Fish is at Boardwalk.
I also canceled my LeCellier ADR for Sept. I did book Coral Reef in it's place. We ate at Coral Reef in August and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I'm really not happy with the changes at LeCellier.

I voted for Coral Reef. DH had the NY strip at Le Cellier and CR both and we both thought the one at CR was better. But I still love the mushroom filet! Our waiter at CR was excellent (Roberto), attentive, funny and very personable. Your kids will love watching the fish. We did not feel rushed at all, here, and we had a tankside table. I used to like Rose and Crown, too, but they've changed their menu too much.

I have many pics of Beirgarten and Chefs de France and reviews from our April trip in my signature....they were both amazing but I think the kids would love Berigarten...the singing and dancing are a lot of fun

Biergarten is lots of fun and even the pickiest eaters seem to find plenty to eat there!:thumbsup2

ITA! Rose and Crown used to be our favorite restaurant, but since the changes they made to their menu last year, there is nothing appealing about it. *sigh* I still hope every day that they'll change it back.

I voted for Coral Reef. This is now my favorite restaurant in Epcot! Neither DH nor I like seafood, but he gets the NY Strip, and it is delicious! I get the shrimp pasta (and eat around the shrimp!) and it's just *so* yummy. Plus, you can't beat the atmosphere. I've never felt rushed here, but I do always notice that this is the restaurant we wait longest to get your table. When you're starving, this could be very annoying. We're usually a party of two, so that means tank side tables, but this October we'll be there as a party of six, so I'm excited to see the tank from a table further back.

We just canceled our September Rezzy for Le Celier as well and booked Teppan Edo, it gets rave reviews both here and on Deb's site, plus with younger kids I have heard they are entertained by the knife tricks and stuff.

And even our "picky" eater will eat sticky rice and chicken (don't know about yours)... so it works well for us.

This is great news! I hope many more cancel - we were there 3 weeks ago and loved LeCellier, just like always. The more people cancel, the more room for the rest of us who love LeCellier!! You are all making a big mistake cancelling ressies before you actually try the new menu out for yourselves. The service is the same as always, and the food is just as delicious as before. Still one of our favorites, and a must-do for every trip.

wow we had the complete opposit during out dining experience 2 years ago. we were completely ignored from the front door.

we had to go back twice to find out how much longer our 6pm time would be since it was 6.45

then when we were finally seated we had to stop someone to ask them to get our server. who all but demanded our entire menu choice including dessert and coffee then forgot we were there and we never saw her again until the 3rd time we asked for the bill.

it was the strangest thing we've ever experienced.

I think the Biergarten would be fun for everyone and lots to choose from as well..

Chefs de France I choose because I heard they can make it fun for children, but my children adored Coral Reef, because of the aquarium. That will be a must every time we go with the kids.

Len Testa says that folks are rating Coral Reef a lot higher than they used to, so I think I'd try that one.

We had a less than pleasent lunch at LC and my family refused to go back, so we called Dining and asked what they had available to replace a dinner we had planned at LC. Coral Reef was available so we went for it, even though our family does not really eat seafood. We all enjoyed a very good steak dinner along with very good service. MY DS had a chicken dish she really liked.
We have been back again for yummy pork chops and will get another ADR for December when the time comes.
Your kids will really enjoy watching the various fish, sharks, turtles and other sea creatures and some times human ones too.. they give kids a fish chart to find them all. Our kids really liked it!

We loved Chef's de france when we ate there!

does anyone have the new menu for le cellier??? I didnt realize it changed and we're going there in 2 weeks!

coral reef - love the aquarium, the "underwater" theming along with the color scheme (cool, dark blues and greens - very soothing!), lobster bisque, shrimp with pasta and a chocolate dessert - can't go wrong!
