We're buying an Airstream!!

EEEKKKKK! I am sooo stinking excited! My hubby and I are buying our very own airstream. 1968, 24' Tradewind. Little does my hubby know, but I am already planning our first trip "home" in it. We have some work to do to it, but I call it our couples therapy. If we can redo an airstream together and not kill one another, we can do anything. Sign the title on Monday, then have to wait for a truck to pick it up. Oh, we will be buying a truck to pull it as well. I think this is what you call putting the cart before the horse. Oh well, we have been looking for a while and it just kinda fell into our laps, so we jumped, head first into the travel trailer ownership world. I hope to see some of you at the fort!

Will be posting before pics as soon as we get it home, hopefully by Thurs. Have to rip up the carpeting, lay down wood floors, major cleaning, all new cushions, curtains, and some re-glue work. Will see if the appliances work.

Buy a good rivet gun and LOTS of rivets. EVERYTHING is put together with rivets and they come apart as you travel !!!!!

Keep before and after pics and put them in an album to keep in the trailer. It will make for a good conversation piece in later years when you are camping in it and entertaining guests. Enjoy!

Congratulations!!! We just traded in our pop-up last month for a 1975 25 foot Trade Wind. I LOVE this trailer!!! Unfortunately, ours needs more work than we originally thought, but I've heard that's the way it goes in Airstream ownership. Oh Well, that's part of the fun, right? Our first trip to the Fort is in August and we are praying that everything is ready in time. Thank you everyone for all the nice words and good advice! Keep it coming. Went on a pricing trip this morning. New ball, hitch lock, and rivet gun! I may have picked up some flooring samples while I was at it. I am so looking forward to this new adventure. Have to double check and search the trailer over for the key and the manual. If neither of those are present, guess we will be having a locksmith visit us and buying a manual. Here is to hoping both of those things magically appear.

Congratulations! I always wanted an airstream, but right now we are fixing up an old Pace Arrow and it is time consuming, expensive, and FUN! I can't wait for our first trip in our new old motorhome. Hope to see you at the Fort!

Just be aware that some campgrounds have restrictions on the age of your RV and won't let older units in, no matter how nice they look
