Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Evening all,

So I'm going to give a shout out to the 3 cats I've been lucky enough to share my home with:

1. Poppy - this is my dearly departed elderly kitty who left me last year at the grand old age of 18.5

2. Church - this is one of the 2 rescues I adopted at the end of last year when I realised my home had a cat shaped hole in it. He's 2 and a bit of a timid big softie, who's really come out of his shell a lot since he moved in. It took him 6 weeks to realise he could jump up on my bed or sit on my lap, and now I can't get rid of him 😂

3. Jonesy - this is the other rescue I adopted. He's 18 months and unsurprisingly for a ginger cat, a bit of a loud chatterbox who sticks his nose into anything and everything. But still loves a cuddle.

I love clothes with dots !!!!!
I have a white sweater with pink dots on it it just reminds me so much of Minnie mouse

I have a white shirt a little red Mickey heads on it it looks like it’s a white shirt with red dots but it’s a little Mickey heads it’s the only shirt I own that’s dry clean only and I bought it just because it had little Mickey heads on it it’s so cute but it looks like a little dots it’s so adorable I only wear it on cruises

I have about six hand towels that are different colors with dots they interchange them through the week I like them because I think they’re fun

Used to have a black dress with white dots it was one of my favorite dresses

I absolutely love clothes with dots if I see something I will usually buy it I’m a huge fan of clothes with dots

Good Thursday Morning

#1 - NONPARELS - Some people calls them snow caps. It’s a dark chocolate candy with white nonparels on top. It’s one of my favorite candies.

#2 - BLACK SHIRT WITH WHITE SPOTS - It’s the only spotted thing I own. I wear it with my red capris and people tell me it’s my Minnie Mouse outfit, which isn’t true because Minnie’s skin isn’t spotted, but her red dress is. I don’t say anything, I just go with it

#3 - LADYBUGS - I love them because they remind me of me of my grandmas house. She had a lot of them by her house. They are supposed to give you good luck if they land on you. Once one landed on my DD22 when she was 13 right before a make or break softball game. I told her she’s got good luck now and she ended up having a flawless game and the team won. Now….i don’t believe in this, because all things happen due to God’s will and blessings, but it’s still fun to think about ladybugs giving you good luck.

Daisy - Our last dog had spotted skin. It did not match her coat but you could see the spots all over her tummy and even inside of her mouth. We lost her unexpectedly right around this time 7 years ago.

Leopard Ring - I recently was going through my jewelry and came across something I bought in high school that I haven't worn in ages. It's a yellow gold leopard ring. The head faces sideways and the spotted band symbolizing its body wraps around my finger. It has ruby eyes. I remember saving up babysitting money to buy it. The black enamel in its spots has worn off but the spots were indented. I think I like it better with the indented gold spots vs the more prominent black.

Chocolate Chip Cookies - OK, maybe a bit of a stretch here, but the overall appearance of the cookie (especially if it's got a good chocolate to cookie ratio) looks dotted. I find it nearly impossible to resist a warm and gooey fresh baked one.

Evening all,

1. Leopard print - this seems to be fairly fashionable over here atm and I've probably got far too many leopard print dresses and skirts. My favourite is a satin skirt, such a nice print.

2. Polka dot trousers - I don't have a lot of things with dots, but i do have a pair of summery wide leg cut off trousers that I adore and they're so nice to wear when it gets warmer!

3. Our old family dalmatian - sadly she passed away a few years ago but have so many fond memories of her craziness:

Dice- We love to play Farkle.

My favorite sweater- I had a black zip-front cardigan that had neon spots: Pink, yellow, orange, lime. It was so much fun to wear! It's about 4 sizes too big for me now, so I handed it off to a friend. I still miss that sweater!

Bananas- I don't like them until they are liberally sprinkled with little brown dots!

Happy :cold: Morning!

#1 - RELAXED FEELING - I always feel more relaxed on Fridays because it’s the end of the work week. I do sometimes work on Saturday mornings, but it’s just for a short period of time.

#2 - EXCITEMENT FOR WEEKEND PLANS - We don’t always have fun things planned for the weekend, but we do always have things planned, like me washing walls this weekend. That’s not fun, but I am excited to check it off my annual January “to do” list

#3 - WATCH TV EARLIER - I normally sit in from of the TV earlier on Friday night, because I don’t feel compelled to do stuff since I have Saturday and Sunday to do it.

Afternoon all,

1. An extra day off work - I work condensed hours, and I have every other Friday off which I couldn't survive without. It gives me an extra long weekend every 2 weeks and an extra day to do chores, shopping etc that would otherwise have to wait til the weekend.

2. End of the working week - whether I'm off already or working on a Friday, it's always the best day as it signifies the end of the working week. TGIF for a reason!

3. Friday treats - while I don't go bonkers, Friday evening always signifies a treat for me, whether it's a meal out, a sweet treat or a glass of wine (or all 3).

Knowing that I've pretty much made it through another week!

We often have dinner with our friends on Friday nights. It's always a last-minute plan, but if they are in town, we go to their house for supper and game night.

This semester, I will be teaching on Friday afternoons. While I don't ever choose to teach on Fridays, I love to teach so I'm looking forward to it. Besides, we have low enrollment this semester so I only have to teach one day instead of two, and only have 14 instead of 32 students. I can do this!

Making it through another work week - I hate saying it like this but I go through phases where I just am doing my best to survive and Friday is often the day to show I made it.

Fun Friday Dinner - When the girls were younger, we used to do Fun Fridays. I usually picked an interactive dinner option like make your own pizza or helping me build a plate of loaded nachos, some kind of yummy appetizer (like cheese sticks for who can get the best cheese pull competition), and maybe make your own sundaes for dessert or build your own cookies. We usually had Disney movies playing in the background to help set the tone.

Breakfast Club - My old work team used to do Friday breakfast. Participation wasn't mandatory but it was nice to show up Friday morning with yummy breakfast waiting for us. Those who participated usually went all out.
